KaacKai's approach, delivering innovative, sustainable on-site wastewater treatment solutions that conserve water and reduce environmental impact, using smart Danish technology developed and constantly innovated over two decades, in part due to Denmark’s favourable regulatory framework, is gaining traction. KaacKai systems provide an attractive IRR on current water costs and this is only expected to increase as water charges are inevitably going to escalate. But a key requirement for decentralised systems such as KaacKai to tackle water shortages and pollution is regulatory reform. Not only are Governments missing out on a tremendous opportunity - NOT acting is posing health risk, damaging the environmental and blocking economic growth. A radical shift is needed on how we regulate decentralised or on-site wastewater treatment – from which effective governance, innovation, investment and capacity will flow.
