We look back on a successful Vitality Week 2024, a week dedicated to boosting both mental and physical health. After all, just like a well-maintained machine, when we take care of all our parts, we run smoother and more efficiently! Here’s a recap of our Vitality Week: 🧘 Mindful Monday: We started the week by grounding ourselves with yoga and meditation, promoting mental clarity and relaxation. 🍏 Tasty Tuesday: Focused on fuelling our bodies, we offered nutritious snacks and a workshop on healthy eating habits. 💪 Workout Wednesday: Time to move! We kicked off the day with stretching exercises and took refreshing walks around our office area to get our energy flowing. 💧Thirsty Thursday: A hydration challenge and plenty of tips on keeping our bodies well-hydrated, especially during business trips. 🎉Fun Friday: We ended with social activities, a little music, and some well-deserved relaxation. A special thank you to Kees-Jan Leliveld, Managing Director at ASMPT ALSI, for his enlightening session at I.S.E.S. EU Power 2024! Session Title: SiC Wafer Dicing with Multi-Beam Laser: Optimal Process Quality and Minimized Cost Abstract: Kees Jan Leliveld highlighted the limitations of traditional blade sawing for power wafers, including issues like side wall cracks, passivation chipping, wafer cracks, metal peeling, and high consumable costs. As the industry moves towards thinner wafers, thicker backside metallization, and materials like SiC and GaN, these issues become more pronounced. Traditional solutions, such as reducing blade saw speed, are not sustainable due to increased equipment and fab space costs. Kees Jan presented ASMPT ALSI's innovative multi-beam laser dicing technology, which outperforms traditional blade sawing in both process quality and cost of ownership. He showcased several examples demonstrating the superior performance and efficiency of this advanced technology. Claire Troadec from Yole Group shared strategies for power electronics market expansion. Ahmed Ammar from Lotus Microsystems introduced innovative silicon interposers for power applications. Ralf Keggenhoff from Littelfuse highlighted the critical role of isolation in packaging requirements. Bertrand Parvais from imec showcased the efficiency of GaN-on-Si technology for RF front-ends. 🔥The first days of PCIM Europe in Nuremberg were a wrap! The team of experts at the ASMPT booth already had a lot of interesting talks about the future of Power Electronics. 🔋 🚀We present our special laser process at the booth: V-DOE. This process enables you to achieve low to zero burr after laser separation. With a modified beam the sidewalls of the dicing kerf will be cleaned up so the Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) created after the process will be increased. 💥For the first time in Europe, our ASMPT SMT Solutions colleagues introduced the POWER VECTOR machine, a very innovative platform for die and module binding! It can be used for dry paste, wet paste and die transfer film. 💪🏽 Today is already the last day of PCIM.
