  • Combining Multiple UV Maps and Textures into One with Cinema4D There are many cases where I struggle with the number of materials and textures for an object. I'm a big fan of SpriteUV, but I prefer not to switch between applications. To save time and still harness the power of SpriteUV, I developed a custom solution that automates SpriteUV’s functionality directly within #Cinema4D. File handling, naming conventions, and material creation are fully automated. The solution is designed to automatically detect material properties and append material numbers to my file and database structure, so I never have to worry about managing files manually.   • Simple 3D asset but so fun to work on There's something incredibly satisfying about examining the object and its reference image to identify details that can be added for a better result. Testing it in a small scene to see how the materials work for the object is always exciting. Working procedurally with #Redshift really enhances the artistic end result, allowing me to focus on creativity without worrying about the technical aspects.

  • Boost Your 3D Asset Management with Expert Consulting for Cinema 4D and Redshift Consulting and implementing Cinema 4D and Redshift involves setting up and training new team or evaluating workflows to identify optimization opportunities for your existing team. This video exemplifies processes familiar to every artist. The goal here is to expedite asset management using Python scripts, ensuring each database entry is unique and adheres to a standardized file naming structure. Example 1: Texture Lookup and Conversion The first example demonstrates how to efficiently lookup textures and their corresponding names organized by material name. This allows for proper identification and renaming of textures, facilitating the conversion of standard materials to Redshift materials without manually opening each standard material and searching through layers to find all the textures even when a texture is used in multiple materials. Example 2: Automated Texture Renaming and Material Creation The second example shows the renaming process for textures needed for your assets. The script renames textures in the "tex" folder next to the Cinema 4D project. Based on the available textures, it automatically creates a Redshift material with the appropriate nodes, which are then wired to their corresponding material ports. The script can also handle a combination of a normal and bump textures by creating a bump blender node. This ensures downloaded assets are converted in a standardized way, maintaining unique names in your database. Example 3: ORM Texture Conversion The third example follows a similar process as the second but focuses on ORM textures. This is particularly useful when converting assets optimized for Unreal Engine or glTF to Cinema 4D and Redshift. Do you want more time for your artistic work?   • 1-Hour 3D Workflow Example During the Open Day at CMM Yesterday was a fantastic day to present the updated version of the 3D Producer course at #CMM. After a presentation session, I demonstrated a kitbashing workflow where I collected 3D models from #Sketchfab, organized them, and placed them in a database using #Cinema4D with my custom #Python scripts. I then built and created the scene, walked through camera, render, and postfx settings with #Redshift, and used #Leonardo to fill background gaps. Finally, I upscaled a low-resolution logo image with #Topaz and made the final composition and corrections in #Photoshop. While this was just a quick personal fan art example of a Vespa moped I created in an hour, imagine what you could achieve with the combined talents of your classmates during the 6-month 3D Producer course. With a focus on #Scrum and #Agile methodologies, this course not only teaches 3D skills but also emphasizes teamwork, making it valuable for both total beginners and more experienced Cinema4D users.   • Automate Your 3D Processes and Save Time and Money Two years ago, I developed an automated pipeline that transforms images into optimized 3D models. The goal was to streamline photogrammetry, reducing repetitive tasks that don’t contribute to the artistic end result but consume time. In this video, you can see the step-by-step process of the script and its results. The input is often inconsistent, so the script includes error-handling mechanisms that attempt alternative methods until successfully completed. Script Steps Overview: Raw Material Interpretation: The input can be either a sequence of images or a 3D model, such as one from a 3D scanner. Photocatch: Images are sent to Apple’s Photocatch to generate a 3D model. High Poly Mesh Optimization: The mesh undergoes optimization steps through Meshlab to minimize possible crashes in Cinema4D later in the automated pipeline process. Remeshing and UV Mapping: Automated procedures handle high-detail meshes with multiple strategies to remesh them into a low-poly version with a new UV map. Texture Baking: Creates FBX formats for Substance Designer to bake textures from high-poly to low-poly meshes. glTF Export: Generates three glTF outputs in varying qualities and texture sizes. Preview Renders: Produces preview renders with Redshift and cell renders to inspect the mesh visually. Batch Processing and Logging: Batch processes folders and logs the steps and time taken. Efficiency Gains: Optimization time is significant. During testing, I processed 40 3D models in a day.   • Unveiling "Maelstrom" – A Deep Dive into Subconsciousness 🎶 "Maelstrom is perhaps one of the most important compositions I have created for my live act, Subconsciousness. With this piece, I aimed to recreate the sounds that constantly fill my head during periods of depression. The song originally began with various sounds generating a form of noise, which then transitioned into actual music. The end result has been meticulously refined to ensure the song fits seamlessly into the live act, despite its initially inconsistent sounds. The biggest challenge was preserving the original thought while crafting it into a listenable composition.” The visuals on the volumetric display are organic and abstract, closely representing the actual images that accompany the original sounds I heard.   • Experience the Joyful Serenity of "Morning Sun" – From My Live Act, Subconsciousness 🎶 When I started composing my own music, I aimed to combine a variety of instruments, especially strings, brass, and choirs, into the base mix on the MPCs. My goal was to blend my preferred music genres and instruments, including film music, 90s dance, techno, Balkan, and internationally oriented dance music from venues like Buddha Bar, along with a variety of percussion instruments. "Morning Sun is an ode to every day that I can stand up and enjoy the small things in life. Despite the struggles and challenges I face, I close my eyes and escape to my private beach where only I exist." The visuals in the background on the volumetric display represent a sunrise, with the waves of the sea moving like musical sound waves.
