  • One sustainable home at a time 🌱✨ Off we go! Imagine diving into a wealth of technical content, emerging with clarity and confidence, ready to inspire change. Together with the team of Squarewise, we’ve transformed the challenge of understanding sustainable housing into an accessible and visually engaging journey. Meet DoeTank! We created an intuitive and user-friendly online hub that allows municipalities to use the step-by-step guide confidently, discover inspiring stories, create custom toolboxes, and easily download relevant information and necessary resources. The platform combines friendly and technical design, clean UI, and playful illustrations to present various phases and steps, making the complex content more accessible. DoeTank empowers municipalities to take action, providing tailored advice to encourage sustainable living in every community. Special thanks to Aylin, Khymo, Dieke, Anne & Rik and the entire Squarewise team for their great collaboration, Antra Svarcs for the beautiful illustrations and Option5 for the solid development. • We are excited to announce the launch of the Prince Claus Fund's new online platform! We designed and developed an innovative platform that integrates PCF’s refreshed strategy and brand identity. PCF faced the challenge of modernizing and diversifying its funding sources, with a particular emphasis on increasing institutional, corporate and private funding. By enhancing their digital presence we made their contributions more accessible globally and find new ways of funding. This digital transformation underscores the critical role of innovation in modernizing cultural institutions and ensuring their continued relevance and impact. The platform features dedicated pages for its award categories, including annual celebration pages, and a rich "Culture is-" section with editorial-style stories. We've also streamlined operations by integrating the Award Entry System with the CMS, facilitating efficient management of hundreds of awardees since 1997. • In just less than a month, it’s that time again: the Rock Werchter summer festival by Live Nation Entertainment! The new brand identity we created for them is now in its second year. The website is rock-solid, communications run smoothly, and behind the scenes we’re focusing on optimizing the spatial design of the festival grounds. One of the highlights this year is a new gigantic stage design for KluBC. This is a collaboration with festival partner KBC Bank & Verzekering, and we’ve found an exciting symbiosis between a design that fits Rock Werchter’s spatial strategy and incorporates enough elements of KBC’s corporate identity. Work in progress which we hope to share soon! The festival runs from July 4-7, and of course you can find us there. If you’re planning to attend and want to learn more about this project, let us know, and we’ll be happy to give you a private tour of the festival grounds. We hope to see you there! • New work 🤗 Founded in 2016, CROSS Architecture is a Dutch-German architectural studio with offices in Aachen, Cologne and Amsterdam. During its six years of existence, CROSS developed a working method that successfully resonates with the needs of their clients, employees, and other stakeholders. Our task was to create a distinctive brand identity that aligns with a communication strategy with the right presence, to support the future growth they envision. Through various work sessions with the founders and interviews with stakeholders, we unravelled their brand core to capture their authenticity and dedicated significant time to determining a new positioning. We researched the target groups, and while the relevance for them from the CROSS brand was clear, the new competitive 'playing field' was quite different. How could they find the right place within it? One of the unique aspects of CROSS that consistently emerged in our research was the mixed Dutch-German DNA. This interesting dynamic set them apart from the competition at all company levels. The benefits of the different characteristics worked as an addition and, more importantly, as a multiplier in their process and work. We emphasized this defining element in the CROSS narrative, copywriting, tone-of-voice and new identity, showcasing the intersection where the different cultures and ways of working unite. "Embracing our mixed DNA, we consider ourselves visionary pragmatists, thriving in the creative tension between the experimental spirit of Dutch Design and the precision of German Craftsmanship." • Sometimes, a project can resonate in a special and more personal way. LOCALIST is one of those projects. Not only because we at TIN have a strong personal connection with New York, but also because it’s a remarkable story. Localist is een NY/Houston based scale-up. It is an engaging online platform that unlocks the power of citizen participation in shaping communities and cities. The platform enables people to share their ideas and opinions on city amenities, and provide suggestions on how to best utilize empty spaces in their neighborhoods. The ultimate goal of the Localist platform is to empower people to have a voice in community development, and to help municipalities better understand their citizens, working together to create a better place to live for everyone. We designed Localist’s user-experience and interface with a focus on key functionalities, such as sharing ideas for both empty and active places and engaging in conversations with other people from the neighborhood to improve the area they live in. Inspired by the legendary journalist and activist Jane Jacobs we have designed the Localist platform to reflect the same powerful energy as the initiative itself and founders Monty Large and David Martinez. A beta version of Localist is currently being tested in a few major US cities, such as New York City, Los Angeles and Houston. Check out the full case here https://lnkd.in/emWJFgkC.

  • After not having been to China for 6 years, co-founder Johan Nijhoff reflects on his recent business trip to China.

In a way, it's just like riding a bike. After nearly 2 years of living and working in China, I found myself back for a TIN business trip after 6 years. I was incredibly curious to see how much China had changed and how I would experience it after all those years. In short, I hopped on the bike and took off, never forgetting how to ride. Together with business partner Tao Wang, we spent two weeks visiting the most sustainable biogas power plant in China, the stunning flower fields of Xinghua, the vibrant city of Huaian, and a newly built film park in the center of Xiamen. We were there to do research for new assignments and follow up on previous leads, we discussed developing several new visual identities and most likely there's even a city branding on the horizon. All the liters of tea we drank, the 'official' photo lineups we participated in, the gifts we exchanged, and the dozens of dinners we shared already seem to be paying off: our first contract is in the making and we're curious about what else the future holds for us! Of course, China has changed, I've changed, but thankfully, some things remain the same. An open, creative mindset opens doors, earns you a seat at the table, and can transcend cultural differences. It's the right vehicle for an exciting journey.

  • Our new showreel is live! It’s great to see our diverse range of clients and projects expand over the years. From music-oriented businesses like Live Nation Entertainment and Sony, to international projects in New York and Chengdu, and apps such as LOCALIST and our very own Timedash.
