2024- IT’S A WRAP! As the year comes to a close, we're reflecting on a year full of exciting projects, incredible milestones, and unforgettable moments. From transporting port equipment in all sizes to delivering offshore equipment worldwide, we’ve had the privilege of supporting the renewable and power industries with numerous cargoes. Each project was special, but some truly stood out – a big thank you to our teams and partners for making it all happen! As we head into the holiday season, we want to wish you all Happy Holidays and a Prosperous 2025. 

We are proud to highlight a remarkable project where the MV Happy Sky successfully loaded and unloaded the heaviest STP buoy ever constructed, designed to be coupled with an FPSO. The buoy weighed 1260 mt (1305 mt with grillage), making it the largest buoy we’ve ever handled! The Happy Sky was chosen for this challenging task due to her capability to lift the buoy without the need for additional aids like stability pontoons. After years of collaboration, a working group initiated by the DNV-hosted Heavy Lift Exchange Forum, has issued the “Guidance on Stability of Lifts” – a detailed operational guideline for stable and safe heavy lift operations, developed with expertise from BBC Chartering, BigLift Shipping B.V., DNV, Heerema Marine Contractors, Jumbo Maritime, SAL Engineering and United Heavy Lift GmbH & Co. KG This guideline fills a critical gap by providing clear, step-by-step procedures and assessments, particularly for unique cargo shapes that previously lacked specific guidance. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲? The “Guidance on Stability of Lifts” offers a systematic, flowchart-based approach to planning and evaluating the stability of rigging arrangements. It reflects real-world workflows used by participating companies and provides detailed methods to safer heavy lifting operations. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱: · Comparing and applying key stability assessment methods like Virtual CoG, Kaps and numerical computer simulations in combination with; · factors like wind force, crane movement, CoG shift and friction at lifting points for precise planning.
