𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗟𝗨𝗗𝗲𝘃 LUDev provides students with hands-on experience by working on real-world software projects, developing their skills in a collaborative, client-focused environment. Over 5 months, a dedicated team of 5-6 third-year computer science students, specializing in various fields, will bring your project to life. Show Me The Money, Soft Money 2024 was a great success! 💸 Startups, grant managers and grant writers came together to discuss finances 1-on-1 during the speed dating sessions. 31 startups made their way to BioPartner 3 to meet with the 14 experts and discuss the different types of grant and loan opportunities for their startup. A big thanks to all the grant managers and grant writers that attended this addition and shared their knowledge with startups. 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗱 𝗔𝗜 𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲! 🎉 After months of mid-demo platform crashes and “tiny” bugs that were anything but (basically smooth sailing, rainbows and endless sunshine), we’ve officially launched Biomod AI (Techstars '24)! Our platform’s first version is now live and freely accessible. Researchers can design oligos (from primers to CRISPR guides), fetch genetic sequences, and even automate entire workflows. Our goal is to expand Biomod AI into a platform capable of autonomously supporting research across a spectrum of applications, from mRNA vaccine design 💉 to molecular diagnostics 🩺 to CRISPR-based therapies 🔬. A dream come true: "My" very own BioPartner Leiden & Topx Network collaboration 🌟 It started with Haifen Hu using her magic wand on giving female leadership the professionally organized, constantly fueled and welcoming platform it deserves when launching TOPX a few years ago. Then I was thus impressed by what I could bring into the network and got out of it that I wanted to spread the word and let this sisterhood grow by becoming a TOPX ambassador. Next were Sarah Opitz and Ester Weijers approaching me with the question if BioPartner could support female leadership within its community. ... "Yeah!" I though (and probably said out loud), "Great idea, but loads of work if you want to do it well, getting and keeping people involved." So I had to hand out a No for bigger schemes, "only" organizing a panel session together with TOPX earlier this year. But the wish once planted kept growing underneath until I could bounce off some ideas with my BCF (Best Colleague Forever) Rebekah Bikker and finding Thijs De Kleer's endless trust and support once again. Some super supportive and productive meetings with Haifen and Nilgün Gönenç later we had things in the air: "BioPartner goes TOPX" was a reality! And now we can cheer for our four grand winners Kranthi Panth, Elena Naumovska, Sarah Opitz, Annegret Van der Aa who will not only become full TOPX 2025 members, but who will also bring female leadership ideas and activities to the BP community. Van chronische pijn naar energie: Mijn motivatie achter LifeCode Solutions Je gezondheid bepaalt in grote mate je leven. Ongeveer 60% van alle professionals heeft leefstijl gerelateerde gezondheidsklachten. Toch delen we daar niet snel iets over op LinkedIn. Vandaag doe ik het (voor het eerst) wel. 🙂 Bijna acht jaar lang heb ik chronische pijn gehad. Geen enkel medisch onderzoek kon verklaren waarom. Ondanks een relatief gezonde leefstijl, ik at overwegend gezond en bewoog voldoende, bleef ik pijnklachten houden, 24 uur per dag, 7 dagen per week. Dit had mega impact op mijn huwelijk, werk en vriendschappen. Gewoon helemaal klote dus. Gelukkig had ik in mijn vriendengroep met Henry C. iemand die altijd met nieuwe ideeën komt die kunnen helpen. Een van die ideeën was een DNA-test van het toenmalige Omniyou (het bedrijf dat wij later bij de start van LifeCode Solutions hebben overgekocht). Zijn redenering was simpel: ieder mens is uniek, dus als je wetenschappelijk kan aantonen wat voor een uniek individu werkt... Daar begon voor mij een levensveranderend proces. De test gaf inzicht in mijn genetische profiel voor voeding, beweging, stress en slaap. Een leuk detail: ik bleek genetisch een heel lage opnamecapaciteit voor Vitamine D3 te hebben. Drie keer raden wat ik in eerdere testen in het ziekenhuis tekort kwam in mijn bloed. Juist, vitamine D3. Met verschillende (vaak kleine) aanpassingen in mijn leefstijl ging het eindelijk de goede kant op. Inmiddels zijn we een paar jaar verder en is mijn levenskwaliteit, met een hele boel muizenstapjes, onherkenbaar veranderd: ⚡ Ik heb energie van de ochtend tot de avond (Ik was vaak rond 15:00 al moe) 🔥 Ik ga nu vrijwel pijnvrij het leven door (geen chronische pijn meer) 💤 Daarnaast heb ik 1,5 uur minder slaap per nacht nodig (pijn maakt moe) Mijn persoonlijke ervaring inspireerde mij om samen met Henry LifeCode Solutions op te richten, en motiveert mij elke dag om deze inzichten voor iedereen toegankelijk te maken.
