“Knowing your friends and value chain partners and their landscape will be increasingly important against the backdrop of rebalancing of trade relations and a more fragmented and less predictable trade context”
Great to be a keynote speaker at ASEIC Global Innovation Forum on #GlobalSupplyChain and #ClimateChange Response for #SMEs in #Ulsan, Korea on behalve of the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform and Holland Circular Hotspot. We exchanged on the #greentransition and Balancing Climate Change Response and #EconomicOpportunity and on the key role of #CircularEconomy. We spoke again the backdrop of rebalancing of trade relations and supply chains where a new more fragmented and less predictable trade landscape will appear. Knowing your friends and value-chain partners and their landscape will be increasingly important. We spoke about opportunities in new #TradeAgreements linking Circular Economy strategies to #NearShoring. We learned about #reporting trends as #ESG and #ESRS. It was incredibly valuable to exchange between European and Asian delegates. Circular Economy Best Practices can be found today in every country, in every value chain from design to production to use phase and as waste valorisation. Front-running SMEs are embracing it. It is an opportunity; it is about future sustainable and resilient markets. Frontrunners have the biggest market opportunities. We need to scale up fast, but businesses can’t do it alone. We need involvement of all actors, and we need international collaboration SMEs are key drivers of green innovation: and we must address their challenges linked to regulation and access to finance. Thank yopu (ASEIC) ASEM SMEs Eco-Innovation Center for the invitation!

#Circulaireeconomie #Europawerktsamen #Duurzameinnovatie #CLOSERProject

In case you missed 'Transition in Circularity' yesterday in Amersfoort! Our colleague Heyd Más shares some of the key insights she took away from the conference. See below! ⤵️
Happy to have joined the discussion at "Transition to Circularity" today in Amersfoort organized by BioBased Circular Groene Chemie, Nieuwe Economie and Circular Plastics NL. Several concrete examples that work, challenges that need solutions urgently, and what next is needed to accelerate the shift to a circular economy in green chemistry, biobased polymers and circular plastics. Here are some insights that really resonated: ➡️ *Scaling Circular Businesses*: To help circular businesses grow, we urgently need more venture capital, a secure demand base, and a steady flow of raw materials (“waste” is simply a resource with untapped potential). ➡️ *Value Biomass Sources*: So many sources of biomass go unused. Imagine the potential if we repurpose them into chemicals, animal feed, and sustainable building materials (and more) ➡️ *A Vision Beyond Climate*: The bio-based economy is about more than climate targets; it’s a huge opportunity for FARMERS to innovate and diversify their revenue streams. ➡️ *Collaborate Across Sectors*: For real progress, we need start-ups, scale-ups, regulators, and financiers to work hand-in-hand—and those need to happen AT THE SAME TIME. ➡️ *Understand and Engage*: Transition success depends on really understanding what different stakeholders need (think not only your clients, but their clients) and how we can support each other’s goals. These shifts are not just possible—they’re happening. Let's keep pushing forward, together. P.S. not to say it was great to do some networking and meet again with some dear colleagues. Showcasing a circular and more independent supply chain for semiconductors within Europe - a much needed and impressive collaborative effort from 32 consortium partners in a 36 months European I3 project. @Holland Circular Hotspot is excited to join the consortium as circular economy coordinator- and communication and dissemination partner in this project! Follow CLOSER to keep track of the developments! ⤵️
Over the past two days, we officially kicked off the CLOSER project with our incredible 32 partners. We’re proud to learn that our project ranks #1 in both budget size and evaluation score within the entire I3 funding program of the European Commission. A huge achievement for the collaborative effort! 🔺 Together, we’re forging a circular and more Independent supply chain for circular semiconductors, united in our mission to create lasting impact and drive innovation. The future of circular semiconductors looks bright! 🔻 The consortium gathered for the official kick-off in Rome, organised by University of Rome Tor Vergata, scientific coordinator of the CLOSER project, to dive into technical discussions on material flows, innovation, and investment areas that will drive the project forward. The second day of the kick-off was hosted by the Lazio Region, emphasising the roles and the engagement of the several regions supporting the success of the project, and the strategic relevance on several political levels. The uniqueness of the project was discussed amongst the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy, European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), industry, knowledge institutes, and the consortium. Together with our Project Officer, Valentina Pinna, the consortium dived into clarifying the grant agreement and next steps in the practical execution of the project plan.
