Read more for insights from Cleeng, Xperi, JWP x Connatix, LGElectronics, and Freewheel during the #FutureVideo24 panel Streaming Services and Monetization of Sports Content: Gilles Domartini, CEO & Co-Founder, Cleeng ⭐ You need to build scale through the portfolio of sports, which makes the stickiness of your service stronger. It’s not a single sport we’re trying to do this with, the attractiveness to having several within the community makes your business very sticky. ⭐ Federations globally want to go direct. Fifa is by far the largest federation worldwide - that’s where the “big bucks” are. Briana Larsen, VP, Content Partnerships & Business Development, Xperi Inc. ⭐ With streaming, the meta data for live events is different. Back in the day you’d go from game to game through the channels, but now it’s more difficult to do that jumping in and out of platforms. You can’t get out of that with the rights each platform has, but you can make the experience easier. ⭐ There is a large amount of money in sports streaming which is why we’re seeing the exclusivity of certain games within platforms. Brian Rifkin, Co-Founder & SVP Strategic Partnerships, JWP (JW Player) Connatix ⭐ As we continue more sports to come onto digital and be digital first, we’ll see a larger push for sports betting. ⭐ We have a lot of customers who have been in the linear world within sports. There’s a real education to get people comfortable selling into digital. vipul sharma, Head of Sports & Music Content Business Development, LG Electronics ⭐ Every platform can alleviate the burden, but how do we work together to get it right? ⭐ If everybody could, they would want to follow the NFL model. They aren’t overly reliant on one single partner, and it’s clear we’re seeing the NBA following the same strategy. Gregory S., Director, Product Management, FreeWheel ⭐ There will be more subscriber growth and retention when we see exclusive sports streaming within platforms. ⭐ The three largest challenges with sports streaming is: scaling to serve, getting creative ready, making sure you can work with the entire ecosystem and smoothing it out.

🇶🇦 Last week I had the privilege to be in Doha to meet our flagship customer in the MENA region TOD from the beIN MEDIA GROUP 📈 With one-of-a-kind growth potential, this region brings a lot of opportunities and challenges, in particular in the payments industry ⏭ I'm proud of Cleeng's achievements and performance in the region and I'm very much looking forward to bringing upgrades in our Merchant product in the coming months. I have no doubt they will bring very positive impact for our globally-operating broadcasters Joachim Bergman Kübra Güven

SPORTEL Monaco: where business meets the beautiful game ⚽🏆 As always, it was a brilliant opportunity to connect with sports rights holders, technology partners, clients, and industry friends. I enjoyed the conversations around Direct-to-Fan monetisation, storytelling through Generative AI, and the ever-evolving sports economy. And the merch giveaways keep my kids very happy! SportsPro Madrid next week? Not for me this time - I’ve got a family commitment. But my colleagues Alex Regan and Hjalmar Koedijker will be there representing Cleeng, ready to meet-up and buy you a drink. Drop them a message and see how far you can stretch their expense accounts...
