colorFabb PLA/PHA filament is made of a mixture of bioplastics, as the name suggests, and is less brittle than other PLAs. It is based on PLA (polylactic acid) a biodegradable polymer obtained from natural resources, such as starch extracted from corn, beets and wheat, and PHA (Polyhdroxyalanoate), a bio-polyester produced in nature by the action of bacteria by fermentation of sugar or lipids, is a biodegradable plastic and is used in the production of biopolymers. bronzeFill was the first of its kind: our unique PLA/PHA compound with real bronze in it. Straight from the printer, parts look almost laser sintered with a matte finish and with a bit of sanding and polishing the bronze particles will start to shine & shimmer unlike any 3d printing filament you have seen before. The weight of the material is something special as well, over 3 times heavier than our regular PLA/PHA. After bronzeFill it’s obvious that makers wanted to print with other metals as well. Therefore we searched for a metal that would post-process just as great as bronzeFill and be a true addition to filament portfolios. Which resulted in the birth of copperFill, a unique PLA filament with copper powder. Good things come in threes, hence adding steelFill to our metal fills! steelFill can give your print a very cool and shiny metal look.
