This puts us at the forefront of the transition to a more sustainable future, ahead of the legal obligations that come into force in 2026. For us, ESG is not an obligation, but an opportunity. Opportunities in several ways; Environment: We have taken concrete steps to reduce our environmental footprint. From research into biofuel as an alternative fuel to innovative adaptation projects for our vessels, we are determined to minimize our impact on the environment. Social: We invest in our people and create an inclusive and safe working environment. We are grateful for the commitment of all our employees, who have helped us prepare this report and inspire us to improve. Governance: Transparency and responsible decision-making are crucial to us. We have strengthened our governance structures to ensure that ethical choices and social responsibility are at the core of our business activities. The operation of our container feeder and offshore service met quality and safety standards and was profitable. This inspires confidence in the chosen course: 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘢 𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨. This course focuses on making our vessels and operations even more sustainable. JR Shipping Group is committed to sustainability in short sea shipping, with a keen eye for mutual opportunities and earning perspectives. Much progress has been made in 2023, which does not alter the fact that together we still have a challenging road ahead. Looking at the first part of 2024, we can conclude that the prospects for both the container feeder and offshore wind markets are good. JR Shipping Group remains committed to a solid performance at sea, to growth and cooperation, and to taking relevant steps towards sustainability in short sea shipping. We prefer to do this together. This means food, fuel, medicine, consumer goods but also the special Valentine presents for today, are all delivered by seafarers. Without international shipping we would have to rely on other modes of transport which don't have the capacity to carry as much cargo as ships and are not as carbon efficient as international shipping. This post is not only for all those people who work in the maritime industry but also for all involved such as loved ones, families and friends who have to miss their seafarer on this Valentine's Day.
