So 10 days ago there was C++ Under The Sea, "https://lnkd.in/e5BFHF_N", a C++ conference organized for the very FIRST time in the Netherlands. It was a very good conference. Congrats to the entire team. Excellent speakers (and me ;-) ). If just all first time things would be so good. Talking to the organizers, the improvement actions are identified, so looking forward to the second edition which will even be better for sure.

We recently joined an inspiring session led by Conor Hoekstra, a Research Scientist at NVIDIA, exploring the fusion of algorithms across various programming languages and the acceleration of code on both CPUs and GPUs. The session explored into techniques like C++ Ranges, Rust Iterators, Swift Lazy Sequences, and Python Itertools, as well as GPU optimization using CUDA Thrust, C++ stdpar, and CuPy. Conor's insights into profiling and optimizing these approaches offered a deep dive into maximizing performance across platforms.

I had the opportunity to attend the first C++ conference in the Netherlands this week, C++ Under the Sea. Many thanks to TMC and Tom Vriens for supporting it. The first day featured a hands-on workshop led by Jason Turner, a well-known C++ expert whose channel I’ve been following for quite some time. The workshop focused on constexpr—I'll definitely be looking for more opportunities to apply it! The second day was filled with talks on a range of C++ topics, including the spaceship operator, abstract machine, strong types, and reflection. It was fantastic to finally see some familiar faces from the C++ community in person and learn directly from them. Looking forward to the next edition!
