VelopA BV, located in Leiderdorp (NL), with branches also in Belgium and Germany, develops street furniture, cycle parking systems, shelters and sports solutions for a wide range of customers. BSFG, consisting of 5 companies and located in Manchester (UK), provides a broad spectrum of street furniture, playground elements and associated services – Cyclepods (one of BSFGs companies) is the market leader in innovative cycle parking systems and lockable shelters. IJslander, located in Oldebroek (NL), produces stainless steel play and sports products. HITSA A/S, located in Kolding (DNK), with branches also in Sweden and Latvia, produces high quality furniture for the urban space. LUMIGUIDE, located in Nijmegen (NL), is a smart cities solutions provider harnessing the power of IT and data technology to help cities make cost-efficient choices today and create sustainable urban policies for tomorrow. The semi-annual progress report on VelopA's CO2 performance is now available online. Since the end of 2023, VelopA has proudly reached Level 5 on the CO2 Performance Ladder – the highest level available - and has continued to focus on further improving and enhancing its performance this year. This achievement marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to sustainability, and we plan to further enhance our CO2 performance. The CO2 Performance Ladder is an initiative by the Foundation for Climate-Friendly Procurement and Business in the Netherlands. It supports organizations and governments in measuring and reducing their CO2 emissions through a structured, transparent approach. By achieving the Level 5 certification, VelopA demonstrates not only the strong management of its own operations but also the ability to work closely with their supply chain partners to drive meaningful change across the value chain.
🌿 Ons halfjaarlijkse voortgangsrapportage over onze CO2-prestaties staat online. Hierin worden onze reductiedoelstellingen belicht en kun je teruglezen wat we al bereikt hebben tot nu toe. Wist u bijvoorbeeld dat VelopA niveau 5, de hoogste trede, heeft op de CO₂-Prestatieladder? Dit betekent dat wij niet alleen aan de slag gaan met onze eigen uitstoot, maar dat wij ook initiatieven nemen om samen met onze ketenpartners de CO2-emissie in de keten terug te dringen. VelopA heeft zich als doel gesteld om de CO2-uitstoot met 42% te verminderen in 2027 ten opzichte van 2019 en we liggen goed op schema. Samen zijn we in staat de kringloop te sluiten. CROWD welcomes new chair of the board We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Joel as the new chair of board at CROWD. Mark began his role in early September, bringing with him an impressive track record and extensive experience that will help lead the company into its next phase of growth. Among his most notable achievements was the creation and successful execution of a growth strategy that significantly contributed to division’s success that he led. This included spearheading mergers and acquisitions as well as managing the portfolio with excellence. Mark not only brings vast leadership experience but also a deep understanding of the markets in which CROWD operates - with a strong focus on growth, innovation, and continuous improvement. James Steward CROWD CEO comments, “I’m very much looking forward to working with Mark, we have complimentary skills and share a passion for enhancing and enjoying the outside world”.

We are very proud of our HITSA A/S group, which achieved strong results for people and the environment in 2023, as highlighted in this year's CSR report. In terms of environmental impact, they made further progress in 2023: the company consumed less gas, electricity, gasoline, and diesel, and CO2 emissions decreased again — by 10% compared to 2022. Regarding social sustainability, it was a quieter year in which they met their goals. "I am very pleased with this year's results and believe that we can reduce even more in the future. We continue to work ambitiously to take responsibility for our impact on people and the environment," says Henrik Andersen, CEO of HITSA. HITSA-koncernen har opnået gode resultater for mennesker og miljø i 2023. Der er også stadig meget at arbejde med på bæredygtighedsområdet i fremtiden. Det viser årets CSR-rapport, som nu er klar. Miljømæssigt var der igen fremskridt i 2023. HITSA har brugt mindre gas, el, benzin og diesel, og CO2-udledningen er faldet igen - med 10% i forhold til 2022. På social bæredygtighed har det været et mere stille år, hvor vi har revideret vores mål og nået dem. ”Jeg er meget tilfreds med årets resultater, og jeg tror også, at vi kan reducere mere i fremtiden. Vi arbejder ambitiøst videre med at tage ansvar for, hvordan vi påvirker mennesker og miljø,” siger administrerende direktør i HITSA, Henrik Andersen. I fremtiden vil HITSA-koncernen arbejde på at reducere CO2, energiforbrug og affald yderligere og øge vores sociale bæredygtighed, fortæller bæredygtighedsansvarlig Josephine Husted Jespersen. ”Vi udvider CO2-regnskabet til at omfatte Scope 3, og vi går i gang med livstidscyklusanalyser for udvalgte produkter for HITSA og Lampas. Det vil give os data og viden til flere indsatser. Vi kan for eksempel gå i dialog med vores leverandører om materialer, vi kan designe med mindre spild og mange andre ting,” siger hun. ”I 2024 starter vi et projekt om spild af træ. Her går vi sammen på tværs af virksomheden – snedkeri, konstruktion og Supply Chain – for at analysere årsager og finde tiltag. Det bliver et spændende projekt,” siger Josephine. Josephine ser også frem til sammen med resten af CROWD-koncernen, som HITSA er en del af, at arbejde med SBTi (Science Based Target initiative) om at nedbringe CO2-udledningen. Yesterday was a historic moment for cycling in Europe: The EU institutions formally embraced the European Declaration on Cycling, marking the inception of the first inter-institutional cycling policy at the European level.
🎉 Today the European Declaration on Cycling was signed at the Informal Council meeting with 27 EU Transport Ministers, marking a historic milestone for cycling. CIE's president Tony Grimaldi gave a powerful industry keynote. Grimaldi emphasized the immense advantages of cycling not only for mobility but also for job creation and economic growth. The Declaration has an ambition to develop a world-class European cycling industry and bring 1 million new green jobs in the EU by 2030! Now we need to put the Declaration's commitment into action.
