Congratulations to Unilever for actioning a six-step plan to lower the organisation’s environmental impact across its logistics and transport operations. 🚚 🌿 ⚡ The British leader in fast-moving consumer goods has committed to the following; 1️⃣ Rolling out heavy-duty electric trucks for deliveries that are powered using 1,005 renewable energy; 2️⃣ Adding electric 1.5-tonne battery-powered vans to its fleet with a range of up to 300 kilometres. Compared to a similar diesel van, it reduces CO2 emissions by 250 kilograms a day. 3️⃣ Where it hasn’t yet been possible to transition their fleets to electric, they have used biofuels which deliver a reduction of 800 tonnes of CO2 a year. 4️⃣ Embracing smart strategies to optimise delivery routes and maximise the weight and volume of every truck leaving any of their premises, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions. 5️⃣ Accelerating cross-section partnerships such as working with TIP Trailer Services UK&I, green tech experts maxwell+spark, and transport company DLG to replace diesel refrigeration in four trailers with zero-emission battery-electric prototypes. 6️⃣ Progressing carbon capture technology projects which will see carbon emitted from their trucks captured stored then exported to be used in the construction industry. We deliver excitement 🤗 The 𝗗𝗟𝗚 delegation is almost in Berlin. Just a few more hours, and the Fruit Logistica Trade Fair 2025 will kick off. We speak with our loyal customers several times a day, sometimes more often than with our partners. 😉 After all, we enjoy providing updates about their shipments and offering excellent service. But finally, we’ll have the chance to meet them in person again at this wonderful fair. 🙌🏻 We look forward to three exciting days of catching up.
