🇺🇦 Calendars marking the third year since the full-scale invasion on Ukraine, we came together at IDFA’s Documentaure Paviljoen in cooperation with European Cultural Foundation for the screening of 𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑨𝒍𝒍, 𝑾𝒆 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌 (2024), a documentary film by Cem Altınöz . We were honored to be joined online by Kateryna Chuyeva , independent museum professional based in Ukraine, to hear about the urgency of cultural cooperation more than ever. At DutchCulture, we are dedicated to assisting Netherlands-based artists and organisations by providing information and answering questions about cultural cooperation with Ukraine. Since 2023, we have organized four visitor programs for Ukrainian professionals. You can learn more abut these programmes via our recent publication 𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 available on our website. 𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑨𝒍𝒍, 𝑾𝒆 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒌 is a documentation of Ukrainian museum professionals’ collective efforts as an outcome of these visitors programmes. Watch the film online. 🎥 https://lnkd.in/d4pUjwpT

DutchCulture invited a delegation from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom to visit the Netherlands and connect with partner organisations. Cultural heritage professionals, policy makers, and a culture coach had the opportunity to engage with colonial collections related to their own islands. Together with the Colonial Collections Consortium / Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands a session was organised on restitution. Visits to Het Scheepvaartmuseum, Wereldmuseum and Nationaal Archief highlighted new narratives for exhibitions on the colonial past and slavery history. The Nationaal Slavernijmuseum & City of Amsterdam, The Black Archives, Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, Gemeente Den Haag and Boekmanstichting kindly shared their work, perspectives, and plans for future collaboration with the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. Thanks to all the institutions for their warm welcome! A special part of the programme included an online meeting with the director and museum team of Mémorial ACTe, the French national slavery museum in Guadeloupe. This visit marked the conclusion of the pilot programme for Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius, and Sint Maarten as part of DutchCulture's Europe + Heritage programme. We are pleased to share that new collaboration opportunities with European countries (including overseas territories) are now available online on DutchCulture's website: https://lnkd.in/dPfZ8wkG

Participating Zoop's are De Ceuvel, 't Gagel, Kunstfort Vijfhuizen, Stichting Creative Coding Utrecht, Nieuwe Instituut. 🗓️Residencies will take place between April - August. 💡Did you know that in 2024, DutchCulture organised 7 visitors programmes for foreign cultural professionals to become acquainted with Dutch cultural organisations and makers? International visitor programmes are an excellent mean of inviting curators, programmers, directors, policy makers and other cultural experts from abroad to come to the Netherlands. Those visits are very fruitful for both parties and often lead to international collaborations and exchange. In January 2025, DutchCulture and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in France have invited nine French art and photography professionals to strengthen ties between Northern France and the Netherlands. One of our visits to MAAKHAVEN, an artist-run atelier complex in The Hague including 45 studios, was beautifully captured by Jorieke de Vet. We'd like to extend our gratitude to Fenna Lampe and Veysel Yuce from Mondriaan Fund for joining us for lunch, and to all the talented artists who welcomed and inspired our international visitors: Aliaksandra Puhachova, Arend Groosman, Badriah Hamelink, Bas de Boer, Damian van der Velden, Daniel Maalman, Denis Oudendijk, Dirk Hardy, Esther Hogendijk, Florentijn de Boer, Iede Reckman, Jan Korbes, Jorieke de Vet, Kevin Bauer, Kim Nuijen, Leslie Nagel, Linda Overzee, Manon Stoeltie. With the generous support of Institut français and Région Hauts-de-France.
