Ever since she was 14, Ece Çiftçi dreamed of helping children in disadvantaged areas access quality education. Winning the British Council's ‘Do You Have an Idea?’ competition was a turning point – it raised awareness about her SosyalBen project, connected her to successful social entrepreneurs in the UK, and kickstarted her global social entrepreneurship journey. For 17 years, Portsmouth Grammar School in the UK and Kikaaya College School in Uganda have been 'partners in learning’. They have worked together on projects, from sharing food recipes to planting trees. Students have learned about life in a different country and developed confidence and understanding. For 90 years, we have helped schools in the UK and around the world to link up and work together.
