During the F1 Spa Francorchamps last week, 25 of our #IoT Systems were actively collecting data 24/7. Maybe you are wondering if they were there to help McLaren, Aston Martin or one of the other teams reach even better performance? Helping them get to the last details that they needed to win the race. Actually, they were serving a more fundamental objective - making sure that there was enough to drink for all the fans. With real-time information about temperatures and volumes, supply lines can be optimized at lower cost, with no risk for run-outs. Technical problems in cooling systems can be immediately detected, or even predicted before they occur. Our IoT systems support about 6,000 events every year, with highlights as Lowlands and F1 Zandvoort still to come this season. Many of them take place at locations that lack the telecom infrastructure prepared to handle the tens of thousands of mobile devices that suddenly show up. Reliable data communication for IoT is therefore not always straightforward. Our 25 units at Spa logged a 100% performance, delivering all the data they collected in real-time to online dashboards. Given the high-performance environment in which they operated, anything less would have been unacceptable. #iotneversleeps #iotplatform
