Recently, a delegation from New Energy Coalition visited Chungnam South-Korea to learn more about their ambitious hydrogen plans. We found many similarities with the HEAVENN project, such as hydrogen used in turbines, and a heavy focus on fuel cells for mobility. We shared some lessons from our Hydrogen Valley and collected inspiration and new knowledge! #internationalcollaboration

This week, HyDEX and Energy Research Accelerator (ERA) launched the report ‘Hydrogen: The Case for UK-EU Collaboration' at the Institute for Mechanical Engineers in London. As part of the launch, they organised a panel discussion on ‘The Benefits of Working Together: Developing Infrastructure, Markets and Policy’. Our project manager Marije Vos was invited to participate in the discussion as a panelist to share her experience of working together on the development of Europe's first hydrogen valley. Yesterday and today the Hydrogen Valley Days took place in Brussels. This event is organised by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership and the European Commission, and is all about the developing of already 15 hydrogen valleys across Europe. On the first day of the Hydrogen Valley Days, our Programme Manager Geerte de Jong was invited to speak on stage about the lessons learned from HEAVENN. Naturally, we seized this opportunity. After years of preparation, the time has come: the Consumer & Market Authority has granted permission to use hydrogen in the Waterstof Hoogeveen (Hydrogen Hoogeveen) project in Gemeente Hoogeveen. The way is now clear to actually connect the first homes to hydrogen. By 2050, all homes in the Netherlands should be able to be heated without natural gas. For that reason Project Waterstof Hoogeveen wants to show that hydrogen is a good alternative for heating homes. They do this by converting the natural gas network in a number of neighbourhoods of the municipality of Hoogeveen to a hydrogen network, thus heating homes more sustainable. Project Waterstof Hoogeveen made a number of videos to introduce the people behind the project, which is part of the HEAVENN programme. This week, Prague is hosting the Hydrogen Days 2024. This is an international conference on hydrogen technologies where updates on hydrogen policies and strategies as well as hydrogen and fuel cell technologies are shared. This week, JETRO - Japan External Trade Organization visited us to hear more about the hydrogen applications in HEAVENN and lessons learnt on how to build hydrogen valleys. An interesting tour on ENTRANCE - Centre of Expertise Energy gave them more insight on real-life technologies and solutions for the energy transition. #hydrogen #energy #hydrogenvalley
