We are delighted to announce the launch of YN 20655, now officially named Solemates. This remarkable 55-metre steel yacht, previously code-named Project Venus, exemplifies Heesen’s commitment to luxury and innovation in yacht design. Rupert Connor from Luxury Yacht Group, representing the owners, emphasised that returning to Heesen was a natural choice for their experienced client. “Heesen’s exceptional quality standards and unwavering commitment to exceeding expectations ensured that Solemates would be another extraordinary build,” Connor stated. “The construction process with this Dutch shipyard was, once again, a pleasure, as their project team enthusiastically embraced our requests.” Interior customisation is being expertly managed by Heesen’s interior engineers in collaboration with Silvia Margutti of LUCA DINI Design & Architecture. Together, they aim to deliver a space that perfectly reflects the owner’s unique preferences. The yacht’s vibrant colour scheme, incorporating lime greens, teal, and baby aqua blue, adds a lively elegance that complements its family-friendly concept. Heesen Yachts’ CEO, Niels Vaessen, expressed excitement over this launch: “The launch of Solemates illustrates our commitment to delivering exceptional quality and innovative design. We are proud to announce the sale of YN 21255, Project Angelica, the newest addition to our 55-metre Steel series. The deal was finalised on December 30th, capping the year on a further high note. The client, an experienced superyacht owner, has requested some modifications to tailor the vessel to his lifestyle, ensuring year-round enjoyment. Ruud van der Stroom, Chief Commercial Officer of Heesen Yachts, expressed his enthusiasm for the project: “I am delighted with this new contract and thoroughly enjoyed the sales process, which allowed us to work closely with a sophisticated client and his experienced team. We are delighted to announce the keel laying of Project Evita, a breathtaking 57-meter all-aluminium yacht designed to set new standards in luxury cruising. The keel laying took place at Heesen’s state-of-the-art facility in Oss, Netherlands, marking the commencement of construction for this exceptional vessel. Heesen, renowned for its in-house team of master welders, ensures that every hull is meticulously crafted to the highest standards. The advanced engineering of Project Evita guarantees an impressive top speed of 22 knots at half load, delivering a seamless blend of performance and comfort. Designed with a shallow draft, this yacht is perfectly suited for cruising the idyllic waters of the Bahamas, a rare feature for a yacht of this size and volume. “To achieve such a high top speed, the yacht must be lightweight, so we are naturally building in aluminium – something that we here at Heesen have elevated into an art form over the years,” said Peter Van Der Zanden, General Manager of Design and Development at Heesen Yachts. “The vertical bow guarantees a long waterline length for maximum efficiency and speed potential, while the aft end is composed of complex sweeping curves. This yacht will be unmistakable when she enters a new harbour.” A standout feature of Project Evita is the pool on the main deck aft, offering a serene space for guests to unwind while enjoying the surrounding seascape. Complementing this is a thoughtfully designed lazarette in the transom, providing storage for an array of water toys and ensuring endless opportunities for adventure on the water.
