We are proud to announce the successful commissioning of the first Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plant in the oleochemical industry, delivered by Shachi Engineering through a collaborative effort between Shachi Engineering and Taprogge Klaren Technology. This state-of-the-art plant, with a feed capacity of 52 KLD, is a testament to our commitment to advancing sustainable industrial solutions. The plant features a Three Effect Forced Circulation Evaporator followed by an Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD). Innovative KLAREN Technology: What truly sets this plant apart is the incorporation of KLAREN Technology’s advanced self-cleaning system in the first effect, along with backward feed technology. This combination effectively mitigates the high scaling tendencies typically encountered with oleochemical effluent, a challenge that conventional systems struggle to manage. In traditional evaporators, chemical Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems often fail to control scaling, leading to frequent downtime, reduced operational capacity, and higher maintenance costs. In severe cases, expensive and time-consuming high-pressure hydro-jetting becomes necessary. The KLAREN Technology Advantages: - Continuous Operation: Our self-cleaning system ensures uninterrupted operation, eliminating the need for shutdowns due to scaling issues. - Efficiency Gains: Capable of achieving higher concentration levels compared to conventional evaporators, this technology significantly enhances overall plant efficiency while reducing both maintenance needs and operational expenses. This project is a major milestone in the oleochemical industry, offering extended operational periods and unparalleled performance for ZLD plants. #ZLD #OleochemicalIndustry #KLARENTechnology #SelfCleaningSystems #Innovation
Shachi Engineering, in collaboration with Taprogge-Klaren, is proud to announce the successful commissioning of its first Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Plant in the oleochemical industry. 💯✨ This state-of-the-art ZLD plant, with a feed capacity of 52 KLD, features a Three Effect Forced Circulation Evaporator followed by an Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD). What sets this plant apart from conventional evaporator systems is the integration of backward feed technology and the implementation of Klaren's advanced self-cleaning technology in the first effect. These innovations are specifically designed to address the effluent feed's high scaling tendencies, which typically pose significant challenges in traditional evaporators. In conventional systems, chemical Clean-in-Place (CIP) methods often fail to effectively manage scaling in the calandria tubes, leading to frequent downtime, reduced plant capacity, and increased operational costs. In severe cases, the scaling becomes so extensive that even chemical CIP is insufficient, necessitating the use of high-pressure hydro-jetting—a laborious, time-consuming, and potentially unsafe procedure. To overcome these issues, our newly commissioned plant incorporates KLAREN Technology’s cutting-edge self-cleaning technology, which enables continuous operation without the need for plant stoppages. This system can achieve higher concentration levels than conventional evaporators, significantly improving overall efficiency while reducing downtime and maintenance costs. This pioneering approach marks a significant milestone in the oleochemical industry. It allows for extended operational periods and delivers unparalleled performance. 💯 . . . #zld #zldplant #multieffectevaporator #agitatedthinfilmdryer #KLAREN #oleochemical #zeroliquiddischarge #wastemanagement #klarenselfcleaningtechnology #scalingprevention #evaporationtechnology #plantcommissioning #shachiengineering Suruchi Marthu Shanbhag Marco van Beek MARTHU SHANBHAG Sagar Wagh Shrikant Datir

We are proud to announce the successful commissioning and handover of a Multi-Effect Evaporation (MEE) plant featuring our advanced self-cleaning evaporator technology in India. This marks the 6th new-built MEE plant of a series of seven designed for one of our esteemed clients, a leading producer of dyes in the country. The MEE plant, supplied by Shachi Engineering, is designed to treat 16 m³/h of wastewater containing a mix of organic and inorganic substances, concentrating the effluent up to 35%. Of particular note is the inclusion of our innovative self-cleaning technology, integrated into the first two effects of the MEE system, ensuring enhanced operational efficiency and minimized downtime. The commissioning of this 6th plant highlights the continued success of the project, which has been progressing steadily since 2021, when the first MEE unit was put into operation. Now, with six plants successfully handed over to the client, we are eagerly looking forward to the final step—the launch of the 7th and final unit, scheduled for completion in 2025. Our self-cleaning technology is a key differentiator in this project, offering the client improved performance, reduced maintenance costs, and a more sustainable solution for wastewater treatment. By enabling continuous operation without frequent shutdowns for cleaning, we are helping the client maintain high production standards while minimizing environmental impact. This achievement underscores our ongoing commitment to delivering high-performance industrial solutions, aligning with global sustainability goals, and supporting the growth of environmentally responsible industries in India. We are excited to continue this journey with our partners as we approach the final commissioning milestone in 2025. We are delighted to announce the successful commissioning and hand-over of a cutting-edge Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) plant for a leading pharmaceutical firm based in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh (India). This pharmaceutical firm specializes in the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) and intermediates for the global pharma industry. The newly commissioned ZLD plant plays a critical role in addressing the firm’s wastewater management requirements by treating both Reverse Osmosis (RO) reject and production effluent. The installation of a 4 Effect Evaporator supplied by Shachi Engineering, and incorporating Taprogge KLAREN Technology, marks a major step towards efficient and sustainable wastewater treatment in the pharmaceutical sector. Key Highlights of the ZLD Plant with the KLAREN self-cleaning Technology: 1. Efficient Concentration of Effluent: The 4 Effect Evaporator is designed to concentrate the effluent from 14% Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) to 50% Total Solids (TS), drastically reducing the liquid waste volume. 2. Backward Feed Evaporation Design: The evaporator is designed as a backward feed system, where the highest concentration and temperature of the effluent occur in the same effect. This results in optimized energy usage and maximum efficiency in treating the highly concentrated waste. 3. KLAREN Technology for Scaling Control: Scaling is a major issue when dealing with high concentration and temperature in effluent streams. To address this challenge, Klaren Technology has been implemented in the effect with the highest concentration, where scaling risks are highest. This technology ensures smooth operation, optimum evaporation capacity and longer equipment life by mitigating scaling issues. 4. Integration of ATFD: The final concentrated effluent is processed by an Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD), ensuring the complete evaporation of liquid and leaving behind only dry solids. This ensures zero liquid discharge and complies with strict environmental regulations The successful commissioning of this ZLD plant demonstrates a major commitment towards sustainable production processes while meeting environmental guidelines. By efficiently handling pharma effluent and ensuring zero liquid discharge, the plant contributes to a cleaner, greener pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. We look forward to continued collaboration and delivering more innovative solutions for the industry! The KLAREN self-cleaning heat exchanger technology effectively addresses fouling and scaling issues and improves the efficiency of heat transfer processes.
