📢🤝 Big news! We’re thrilled to announce that Land Life has received approval from the Colorado State Land Board for a landmark forest carbon lease, paving the way for 1,000 acres of wildfire-affected state trust land to be restored across five counties. This marks the first-ever lease by the state to a reforestation company and one of only a handful of forest carbon projects on public land in the U.S. We’re incredibly excited about this first-of-a-kind partnership which demonstrates how state-supported forest restoration can contribute to global climate goals while generating revenues for public good – a clear example of how restoration benefits both people and the planet! 🌱 🌲This work builds on the reforestation efforts we’ve led on private land, where Land Life has already planted over 1.5 million trees in Colorado since 2021. 🌱 Pink Cockatoos Spotted at Merrinee! 🦜 We’re excited to see critically endangered Pink Cockatoos at our Merrinee, Victoria restoration site! They've been spotted feeding on Scrub Cypress-pine and Dillon Bush - a sign that our habitat restoration efforts are paying off. These beautiful birds rely on mature native pines for nesting, which take over 80 years to form hollows. Bushfires and competition from Galahs have made it harder for them to thrive. By planting key species like Callitris and restoring a diverse native menu, we’re helping set the stage for their long-term comeback. What’s even more exciting is to see how our high-integrity carbon projects go beyond just sequestering carbon. These nature-based solutions deliver a multitude of co-benefits including fostering resilient habitats that can support a wide variety of life for generations to come.
