Det har været en lærerig uge der har givet masser af erfaring og sparring mellem Teknisk afdeling og teknikerne fra Maastricht Instruments. It has been an educational week that has provided lots of experience and sparring between the Technical Department and the technicians from Maastricht Instruments. Researchers from the Human Movement Sciences Department (Maastricht University) have utilized the Omnical Indirect Calorimeter by Maastricht Instruments in a groundbreaking study to investigate running economy. This study, published on March 21, 2024, used advanced metabolic analysis to reveal key differences in running technique that affect energy efficiency. The Helmholtz Institute for Metabolism, Obesity, and Vascular Research (HI-MAG) in Leipzig has unveiled two state-of-the-art metabolic chambers by Maastricht Instruments. These chambers were launched on June 11, 2024. Recent research reveals significant differences in nocturnal substrate oxidation between young, healthy individuals and older, overweight populations, including those with type 2 diabetes. Metabolically compromised individuals exhibit higher nocturnal carbohydrate oxidation and lower fat oxidation rates.
