Over ons

NCM (Nederlands Centrum voor Mestverwaarding) is the Dutch center of expertise for valorisation of manure. Manure is a indispensable chain in an circular economy, but in the Dutch context there is an imbalance between production and demand. This leads to risks for the environment and to high costs for the farmers. In the meantime, manure contains scarce nutrients, biomass and energy which all have a value, in the Netherlands and in other countries. NCM gives an independent, transparant and scientific base of knowledge in this domain. It is a contact point for information and to discuss questions. NCM will initiate the national innovation agenda and projects and other initiatives. By this, NCM contributes to an more circular, more sustainable and stronger agriculture. NCM is created in December, 2017, and is founded by both national and regional governmental organisations, and leading private agribusiness organisations from the Netherlands, in order to help creating a sustainable, circular and competitive animal production sector in the Netherlands.
