🏅 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗥𝘂𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 🏅 This weekend, the teams from NICOVERKEN and THB Verhoef - Diesel, Gas & Hydrogen Engine Components successfully completed the 10 km Harbour Run in the Port of Rotterdam! 🚢 Alongside our teams, Jamie Velthaak, Dario Antonisse, Dave van der Meer, and family of our colleague also took part under the Nicoverken name. 💪 With 𝟮𝟴 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗹𝗲𝘀 and a unique route through Europe’s largest port, it was an unforgettable experience. 🔹 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗕𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 In the post-war boom, NICOVERKEN met the demand for overseas shipping by providing ship repairs. Teams of engineers, welders, and platers worked tirelessly to shorten docking times. At its peak, we operated 16 locations worldwide with 2,500 employees. 🔹 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 The economic crisis of the early 80s hit hard, leading to bankruptcy of our HQ in Göteborg. However, in 1983, the Dutch branch was acquired by Frans van Krugten and Kurt Theiland, who gradually rebuilt the company. 🔹 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻   In the 90s, we expanded our services to include marine equipment supply and distribution, and industrial filling & packaging machines. By 2004, we moved to a larger facility, establishing our own machine factory for in-house maintenance and repairs. 🔹 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽  In 2008, Erik van Krugten and Jeroen van Krugten took the reins, steering Nicoverken towards new horizons.
