The Dutch national Art Fair: bringing together the best in Art, Antiques and Design.
Over ons
PAN AMSTERDAM - The largest National Art Fair in the Netherlands. 24 November - 1 December 2024. Buy your tickets at www.pan.nl In 1987 six leading Dutch antique experts, art dealers and enterprising private art lovers took the initiative to launch PAN Amsterdam giving Dutch dealers a national showcase. Since then, PAN has evolved and become the Netherland’s leading national art fair, where art, antiques and design are presented by more than 110 art and antique dealers and gallery owners, primarily from the Netherlands. Each year 250,000 invitations are sent, and approximately 40,000 visitors come to the fair to see its broad range of top international art, which covers five millennia of art history. PAN Amsterdam has earned widespread praise for the quality of the objects on sale. This quality is secured by means of a meticulous vetting process. Eighty independent specialist vetting experts, organized in committees, appraise the authenticity, quality and condition of all the objects before the fair.

Thanks to the Droom en Daad Foundation, this historic map has been added to The Rotterdam City Archives. The donation celebrates Jantje Steenhuis, city archivist who retired this month after 18 years. The map, sold by Inter Antiquariaat Mefferdt & De Jonge at PAN Amsterdam, is a large copper engraving made from four joined sheets. It was created during a time of major change in the Netherlands. After the transition to the Batavian Republic, Rotterdam needed an accurate city map. It shows electoral districts, harbours, streets, and even individual houses marked with letters and numbers. New map of the city of Rotterdam, engraved by C. van Baarsel and published in Amsterdam by Mortier, Covens & Son in 1801. Copper engraving, 122 x 166 cm. Collection of Rotterdam City Archives.

On Sinterklaas's birthday, we look back fondly on his special visit to PAN Amsterdam! Sint enjoyed a stroll through the fair alongside young art enthusiasts from Noordje, an Amsterdam-based organisation dedicated to art and writing projects. Among the many treasures, the Saint Nicholas portraits at Tóth - Ikonen and Heutink Ikonen particularly caught his eye. One of the oldest icons, dating from the first half of the 16th century, depicts Nicholas dressed in bishop’s robes. With his right hand, he makes a blessing gesture, while his left hand holds a gospel book. To his surprise, Amsterdam Museum even had one of his old staffs on display! 1. At Heutink Ikonen 2.
