🚀 A new project featuring our latest Pretty Plastic tile 🌱 We’re pleased to share that our brand-new ‘Basic Third’-tile has been selected for a new apartment complex in Amsterdam! Designed by TONKO architecten and commissioned by Housing Association Ymere, it will be part of Centrumeiland, IJburg - a growing neighbourhood built on artificial islands in the IJmeer. The main contractor, HSB-Bouw B.V., will collaborate with the Belgian firm CLT-S to make the structure fully in CLT, making this project highly sustainable. TOPPING OUT AT PLUS ULTRA III We’re proud to announce that just before the new year, Plus Ultra III reached its highest point. The final CLT floor panels were installed, marking a major achievement for this innovative timber building! This post highlights the power of timber construction, a key feature of Plus Ultra III: 🌱 2271 m³ of CLT was used in the construction. This renewable material not only supports sustainability but also contributes to a lower environmental footprint. ⚡️ Faster construction: timber speeds up the building process, allowing earlier completion and greater profitability for the client. 🏗️ Lighter cranes: CLT’s lightweight nature made construction more efficient. Plus Ultra III is designed with sustainability at its core, aiming for a BREEAM Excellent certificate. While the project includes other innovative elements, timber takes center stage in redefining what’s possible for laboratory buildings. As the first timber lab building in the Netherlands, it’s setting new standards for both sustainability and innovation. We’re excited to see what 2025 will bring as this project moves closer to completion on the Wageningen University & Research Campus! Check out the photos to see the progress.
