The 2024/25 non-GMO crop in Brazil is estimated to be close to 1.5 million tons, a historical low. ProTerra Foundation embraces mutual recognition of sustainability Standards and believes that synergies help reduce the costs of standard implementation and certification while reducing the audit burden. As such, ProTerra has developed a benchmark of the ProTerra Standard V5 (PT V5) from September 2023 against Sustainable Cereal and Oilseed (DTP 112) V6 from 18 November 2021 (the latest available version). The ProTerra Foundation launched the ProTerra Monitoring and Verification Standard (MRV) in September 2023. The Standard is a robust tool to support organisations in achieving and maintaining legal compliance regarding deforestation-free commodities and ensuring sustainable procurement practices. It is based on a set of requirements for an organisation's supply chain management system and sustainability requirements for its suppliers.
