Grieving the loss of their liveliness and how that impacts us and generations to come will open up space for all kinds of grief that might be present with us, from socio-political to environmental and personal. By moving through and tending to our grievances, we can reconnect to what we love, act in favor of it and create empowered communities. The award is $3,500 for three months (for two fellows), and aims to center impactful maintenance, repair and care projects from around the globe.  

Last week many of RE-PEAT members took part in an ULEX Training on Training and Narrative in Eroles, Catalonia! 🌍   This training provided us with invaluable tools and insights to deepen our understanding of how narratives shape movements and empower change. It was an incredible opportunity to grow our capacity to communicate and engage around the urgent need for peatland protection. It was also an fantastic occasion to connect with our team and strengthen out peaty bonds. 💚 We look forward to sharing what we learn and applying these lessons in our ongoing work advocating for Peatland Justice! RE-PEAT, an international collective, has been advocating for the conservation of peatlands since 2020. I first got to see these unique ecosystems during field trips to bogs in Estonia and palsas in Finland. RE-PEAT's focus spans all of Europe and beyond: https://www.re-peat.earth/ According to RE-PEAT: 🌱 Peatlands are made up of partially decomposed plant matter (peat). 🍃 This plant matter is suspended on its journey toward decomposition due to the lack of oxygen and the acidity of stagnant water around it. 💀🌿 Not quite dead, not quite alive ... this unique material accumulates over thousands of years, gradually forming a peatland.
