Take a look at the incredible COP29 Virtual Peatland Pavilion (VR headset optional): https://bit.ly/COP29VPP 🌎 🤖 🌱 To raise awareness of the importance of peatlands during #COP29, the IUCN UK Peatland Programme, in collaboration with the UN Environment Programme-led Global Peatlands Initiative, has released the latest update to the Virtual Peatland Pavilion. Sitting in a landscape inspired by the architecture of Baku in Azerbaijan, where COP29 is being held, this huge virtual building is modelled on the leaves of peat-forming Sphagnum moss. Step inside and discover #peatland resources from around the world, including artwork, videos, photo stories, podcasts and much more. As a giant dragonfly zooms over your head to tell the story of peat and carbon, explore hotspots on a virtual globe of peatlands from Africa to Peru. Restoring and protecting peatlands is a vital nature-based solution to the climate crisis and we hope this incredible resource will educate and inspire the next generation of peatland champions. A huge thank you to Richard Lindsay, the architect behind this incredible virtual world!!
