A central group of professionals who help researchers to maximize their success with project acquisition and execution
Over ons
The TU/e Research Support Office (RSO) supports and unburdens researchers with the process of finding external funding for their research, developing project proposals and setting-up grant agreements. RSO has extensive experience with most European and national funding schemes, including personal grants. We offer specialized guidance for researchers to maximize their chances of success, in close cooperation with departmental Project Development Offices. We also consult on the specifics that come with cooperating with industry, contracts, consortium agreements and project execution.

On Thursday 20 February 2025 from 9:00 – 12:30 there will be an information event about the European Innovation Council, organized at TU/e in the context of the TU/e EU Action Plan. Focus will be on the EIC Pathfinder and EIC Transition instruments and opportunities in the 2025 workprogramme. TU/e-researchers and support staff interested in (submitting a proposal for) the European Innovation Council are very welcome; staff from TU/e spin-off companies are also welcome. The event will be opened by our rector prof. In the afternoon there will be the possibility to discuss your EIC-proposal idea with RVO. On Tuesday, we had another great turnout at the RSN meeting! In addition to our regular attendees, we were joined by guests from TU Cluj-Napoca and welcomed 9(!) new RSN colleagues who introduced themselves. The meeting included an overview of the M&CS department, details on the EngD programmes, a summary of the Research Funding Analysis, and an update on the RSN academy. Of course, we also heard our usual updates from the institutes, alliances, and program experts.

On Monday 20 January 2025 we held the kick-off of the TU/e EU Action Plan. With several high-level speakers including Petra J.M. Smits (Dutch Permanent Representation for the EU), our rector Silvia Lenaerts and our president Robert-Jan Smits, it was an amazing and energizing event! With this, we marked the start of the TU/e EU Action Plan that will run from 2025 – 2027 with the aim to significantly strengthen the visibility, participation and impact of TU/e in Europe. We will do so in a campus-wide effort, enabling and supporting our researchers to contribute to European R&I-projects together with the best research institutes and innovative companies in Europe and beyond. Many thanks to all colleagues that are contributing!
