Make It Happen. (RMIH) brand alliance, a milestone that reflects the power of collaboration. What started with 7 founding organizations - Gemeente Rotterdam, Port of Rotterdam, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam Topsport, Rotterdam Festivals and Rotterdam Partners, has now grown into a network of 40 committed to showcasing Rotterdam as a circular, healthy, smart, and vibrant city. Today, we are looking back on an inspiring evening that reflected on key milestones including Rotterdam’s rise as an international hub for business, innovation, and culture, and the city’s growing global reputation for its resilience and forward-thinking mindset. A special highlight was the inspiring keynote by Francine Houben, founding partner and creative director of Mecanoo. She shared her vision for Rotterdam, emphasizing the importance of: connecting the city's big areas - North, South, and the Port, using existing infrastructure to create a cohesive urban landscape. As well as reimagining underused spaces throughout the city and providing more opportunities for the South part of the city. It was a great celebratory and networking event, which concluded with a look ahead – Rotterdam. Rotterdam hosts Invest in Holland Masterclass 2024 We’re reflecting on an inspiring few days in Rotterdam, where we co-hosted the Invest in Holland Masterclass with the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency and InnovationQuarter at LantarenVenster! This event brought together the extensive Invest in Holland network, showcasing Rotterdam as a thriving hub for transition, innovation, and collaboration. For Rotterdam, it’s both an honour and a significant opportunity to host such an event, strengthening our networks and showcasing city’s role within the Dutch business ecosystem. A new addition this year was the Value Award Ceremony, celebrating a colleague within Invest in Holland for their exceptional contribution to innovating FDI processes that drive high-value projects, and was awarded to Fleur Mulder from NV NOM. Some of our key highlights included a session by Bart Kuipers, Port Economist at Erasmus University Rotterdam, an engaging presentation by BlueCity (010) Co-Founder and Director Sabine Biesheuvel, and a live podcast session by the Betrouwbare Bronnen featuring Allard Castelein, Special Envoy for Critical Raw Materials. It was great to see so many valuable insights shared on Rotterdam’s developments, the Netherlands' unique business climate, and opportunities for companies. This program is designed for digital experts, policymakers and entrepreneurs interested in exploring XR, which includes VR, AR, and Mixed Reality. Through hands-on experience, expert insights, and real-world case studies, participants will learn how to use XR to enhance operations, engage customers and more.
