Yesterday, Skytree was honored with the Carbon Capture Future Award in the CCUS Tech Pioneer category at the Carbon Capture MENA Summit 2025 in Dubai. This award recognizes Skytree's dedication to advancing technology crucial for capturing both historical and new CO2 emissions. At the event, our CEO Rob van Straten also showcased Skytree's modular, scalable, and efficient Direct Air Capture (DAC). Our machines empower industrial CO2 users to produce circular CO2 directly from the air, beyond traditional waste streams. The UAE and Gulf region’s vast renewable energy potential make it an ideal location for DAC, for both CO2 removal and utilization. We are committed to collaborating with regional partners to optimize our DAC machines for the climate and deploy significant capacity. Thank you to all participants and organizers for the insightful discussions. Together, we are engineering the CO2 transition. #carbonremoval #DAC #dactechnologies #carboncapture #CO2transition

Last week our team visited the Deep Sky Alpha site in Innisfail, Alberta, where Skytree's first large-scale commercial Direct Air Capture (DAC) unit will be deployed later this year. The visit provided valuable insights into the development of our carbon removal technology in the field. It reinforces the importance of climate-specific engineering considerations, including temperature, altitude, snow, wind, and other environmental factors, in optimizing DAC unit performance. This project represents a significant step forward in our commitment to advancing effective and scalable carbon removal solutions. We're very excited to be intensifying our partnership with DeepSky in the coming months, thank you for having us! Last week, we joined industry leaders at Carbon Capture Summit 2025, hosted by The Economist, to engage with fellow experts on the future of large-scale carbon solutions. Our CEO Rob van Straten joined a panel examining the critical challenges in scaling carbon removal technologies. Here are three key insights that emerged from the discussion: - Scale-Up Conundrum: Achieving sufficient volume is necessary to drive down costs, yet high costs often stand in the way of achieving that volume in the first place. - Diverse Solutions: Both small and large-scale projects are essential, and nature-based strategies remain a critical part of the overall toolkit. - Renewable Integration: Carbon capture systems should leverage renewable or waste-energy sources wherever possible, reducing the strain on existing power grids. We see modular systems and continued direct air capture (DAC) innovation as fundamental to accelerating deployment. Sincere thanks to fellow panelists Charlie Pool, Maryam Nahid, Jens Fuhrmann, and Maaike Witteveen for pushing these vital conversations forward. Let’s keep working together toward a sustainable future.

At Skytree, our mission is clear: removing CO₂ from the atmosphere to combat climate change. Even if emissions stopped today, we’d still have an excess of CO₂ that won’t naturally dissipate fast enough, which is why Direct Air Capture (DAC) is critical. Our technology actively captures CO₂ and enables its permanent storage in durable products or subsurface reservoirs, helping restore balance to our planet. Watch the video with Rob van Straten to learn more about why DAC is essential in the fight against climate change. Thank you, Strativ Group, for the interview.
