🎉 Last week we came together and wrapped up an incredible 2024! As the year begins to wind down, we think back of the wonderful moments we’ve shared this year. This culminated in our end-of-year party. The final time we could get together, celebrate the hard work, and toast to the successes of this year. 🥂 A thank you to every member of our team for your dedication, creativity, and passion. 🍌 The 2024 Sqills Conference truly had our people go bananas! (Go bananas – idiomatic, informal: To become silly, excited, or enthusiastic) Yesterday, we hosted our annual internal conference, and it was one for the books! Held once again at our local cinema, we welcomed an inspiring mix of special guests and internal speakers who shared insights, expertise, and plenty of excitement with us. Here are just a few highlights of yesterday • Felienne Hermans came with a highly energetic and inspiring presentation about what happens with our brain when we program; • Patrick Van Veen, biologist and behavioural scientist, delivered a captivating closing lecture on primal behaviour and collaboration, drawing on his studies of primates. • Thomas Graetz joined us for a a fascinating ‘behind-the-scenes’ look into the intricacies of building trains and the complexities of these large-scale projects. • The team from Omdenken, including David Mangene and Chris King Perryman, introduced us to "flip-thinking" and shared how to approach challenges and our colleagues from a fresh perspective. • Dr. Markus Schweier explored the world of generative AI with AWS, taking us on a journey from emerging technology trends to real-world applications.
