This unique design seamlessly integrates the hopper with the structural column, securely bolted together 𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆, all while maintaining the structural and bespoke advantages of the square silo system. No need to weld on-site comes with a lot of advantages: - Cuts installation time. - Increases safety. - Preserves paint integrity inside the bin, as there are no weld spats. - No heat-affected zones in the steel. - No hot work permits are needed. - Allows factory production to continue during construction, as weld fumes are a thing of the past. The BOLT is designed specifically while listening to customers in the Coffee industry, but its added value is certainly not limited to coffee beans. Nonetheless, it will be no surprise that this system has already been successfully commissioned for world-renowned Coffee Roasters in Spain, Switzerland, Germany, and France. Coming up in 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: We return to CARRA MANGIMI SPA, Italy, to extend the dosing silo block we built 8 years ago, just as planned at the time. The additional 18 silo bins, suitable for almost 2.200 m3 capacity, will add to the production capabilities of this family-owned feed mill. The installation will be under time pressure, though, as the plant cannot operate at its full capacity during construction. Coming up in 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: New applications for our square silos! One of them: dried sewage sludge pellets for the loading of bulk trucks. Used as an additive or even alternative fuel for bio-energy plants, the sewage sludge is turned into heat and/or electricity. Coming up in 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: A peculiar project in Switzerland for the loading of grass pellets into bulk trucks. Several years ago, we built a big square silo storage facility for our customer LANDI Sense Düdingen for grains, and now we return for a truck loading facility for another one of their specialities: dried grass. The dried grass is used as high-quality livestock feed, mainly during seasons when fresh pasture is unavailable. The outcome? Unique cheeses that are distinctive to the region. Let's go over some of the noteworthy details of this silo construction project in order of appearance: - A support structure spanning 9.6 meters (!) gives the trucks a wide passage. - A partially suspended machine floor, needed so the trucks have more space to turn left. - An extension over an existing building to house the cyclones. - External bracings to the structure to support a chimney. Coming up in 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: A 32-bin square silo block for a greenfield flour mill project in Germany. From the raw wheat to the bran by-product, this silo block plays a role in almost all parts of the process. Coming up in 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: probably the slimmest square silo construction we will build this year! The five bins in the block will be used for wheat conditioning and are part of a flour mill extension project in Germany. With surface dimensions being 3.0 x 12.0 meters and a total height of 32.0 meters - that's quite the ratio! A high-rise configuration like this demands careful consideration of numerous details. It must endure wind, potential seismic forces, and stringent serviceability demands. The structure must be designed to resist buckling and excessive deflection. The silo’s mass distribution, foundation design, and reinforcement details need to account for potential horizontal accelerations. All considering the various applicable Eurocodes, e.g., for silo- and structural design. This is why no detail, however small, can be overlooked.
