This is the official VDL Automated Vehicles BV. LinkedIn company page. VDL Groep has a strong automotive orientation and is already in automated transport solutions since 2001. VDL started to develop its first Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) in 2009. To professionalize the activities VDL Automated Vehicles was officially established in 2016 and got a BV. (limited) formalized status in 2024. The company develops, builds and implements automated horizontal transport solutions for every application on non public roads. Current automation projects have been deployed in various container ports and industrial sites around the world.

Woensdagmiddag 22 januari organiseerde Regio Deal Zuid-Limburg een inspirerend werkbezoek aan twee belangrijke projecten in de regio: Haven Stein en Chemelot. Twee plekken waar keihard wordt gewerkt aan de transitie naar een circulaire, toekomstbestendige economie in Zuid-Limburg. 🚢 Haven Stein: Deze binnenhaven liet zien hoe scheepvaart helpt om vrachtverkeer te verminderen. Jos Schmitz van Circle Infra Partners en Bob Joosten van Wessem Port Services Group BV vertelden bevlogen over de duurzame ontwikkelingen in de haven en het belang van schepen voor het vervoer van goederen. 🚛 Slim transport: We kregen een live demonstratie van een zelfrijdende, elektrische truck van John Thelen van VDL Automated Vehicles, die in de toekomst goederen duurzaam tussen de haven en Chemelot kan vervoeren. 🔄 Circulair Chemelot: Verder kregen we de ambities van Chemelot te horen. Voor 2050 moet Chemelot dé eerste circulaire chemische site van Europa worden.
