Thank you for a great reception at this week’s AlgaEurope conference in Athens, Greece. 🙏 🌊 💡Our Business Development Manager, Yann Le Gal, participated in the industry session, showcasing how we harness natural marine microalgae at scale, providing meaningful solutions for fish health, human health, and ocean health. 🐟 🐟 For the first time, there were 15 industry stakeholders sharing their perspectives at the event, which brought together more than 400 key players from 45+ countries, all dedicated to advancing R&D, technology, and industrial capacities in the field of algae.🌎 We were proud to stand alongside the other distinguished speakers, including those from Arctic Algae, Algoliner, Plankton First, and Carniolus and many more . 👏 One key takeaway from the conference is that while algae holds incredible potential, the main challenge for innovators lies in defining a viable business case and successfully scaling up. We are proud that Veramaris has already achieved this, becoming a mainstream supplier of essential Omega-3 EPA and DHA.

At Veramaris, we echo Skretting CEO Bastiaan van Tilburg's emphasis on the necessity of scaling novel feed ingredients to ensure a sustainable future for aquaculture. The projected demand for over 100 million metric tons of feed by 2050 presents both a challenge and an opportunity for our industry. Salmon farming, and aquaculture at large, must look beyond immediate cost savings to build resilience into the supply chain. By supporting a balanced approach that includes alternative sources such as algal oil, we can safeguard fish health, meet animal welfare demands, and create a viable market capable of withstanding future disruptions. Collaboration across the value chain is essential to stimulate the confidence and investment needed to achieve the necessary scale. We are committed to working with our partners to drive innovation and ensure the long-term sustainability of the aquaculture industry.
Earlier this week, our CEO Bastiaan van Tilburg joined one of IntraFish Media's International Salmon Week panels to discuss challenges and opportunities in the Norwegian salmon industry. One of the topics addressed at the panel was a potential shortage of crucial omega-3s. "There is enough demand for the industry to grow, but this is one obstacle that we need to tackle," he said. Algal oil has become a 𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 in aquafeed, offering much needed relief to those who benefited during the recent EPA and DHA supply crisis. Our CEO, Gertjan de Koning, spotlighted this progress at #SalmonWeek by IntraFish Media. 🙌 This is truly a success story in novel ingredients! 𝐒𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭? We’re asking the whole value chain to keep up their commitment to algal oil so that we can fulfill our wish: to be there for you, with more volume, in future supply crises that are inevitably to come. With your help, we will be there. Curious to see the recording? It’s FREE and available here: https://lnkd.in/dAM_zHP6 #Aquaclture #SustainableSeafood #Omega3

As part of the #UNOceanDecade, we actively collaborate with stakeholders in a shared global effort to improve ocean health. 🌍 This recently involved attending the kick-off of a new Working Group in Frankfurt. The group aims to amplify initiatives to meet the goals of a clean, productive and inspiring ocean. Marion Hax, our Strategy Director, presented on Veramaris for Ocean Relief, detailing how offering an alternative source of essential Omega-3s can support the health and performance of fish – enhancing product quality whilst reducing reliance on finite marine resources. Thank you to Dr. Alexis Katechakis for inviting us. It is always uplifting to meet with liked-minded individuals and organizations with a shared purpose. It is only through collaboration that we can truly make a difference. 🌊💙 #SustainableSeafood #SalmonFarming #UNOceanDecade

Feed: What is the role of the biggest cost item to lift productivity? This was the pivotal question at last week's Arctic’s Seafood Investor Conference in Oslo, where leaders in the aquaculture industry met with the investor community to tackle the pressing challenges in salmon farming. Veramaris Business Development Manager Ian Carr had the privilege of participating in this insightful panel discussion alongside Håvard Walde from Skretting Norway and Matts Johansen from Aker BioMarine ASA. Here are some key takeaways from Ian’s participation: 💰 Better nutrition always pays off – but it’s not for free 🏆 Production benefits far outweigh any cost savings on feed 👏 There’s been significant progress with the adoption of algal oil, proving that this can de-risk the supply of essential nutrients for animal health and seafood quality. 🐟 And farmers, don’t leave it all up to the feed mills – take a position and collaborate through the value chain. 🤝 Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to these great discussions. Let’s promote more sustainable and productive practices in our industry. 🌍✨ #ArcticsSeafoodInvestorConference #SeafoodInvestors #VeramarisAlgaeOil | Arctic Securities | Boston Consulting Group (BCG) | Thommessen

It takes a science-based approach to contribute to a robust and sustainable seafood value chain. 🔬📑 📊 Our new #O3DModel is a combination of a nutrient demand model and a fatty acid deposition model to enhance the nutritional profile of farm-raised salmon. It can allow the industry better understand the relationship between the EPA & DHA levels in the feed and how they are deposited in the fillet, helping us to secure farm-raised salmon as a healthy and nutritious seafood. Why? Because consumers want seafood rich in Omega-3s. 🎥 The video below explains how to register - see for yourself. 👀 Reserve your access now by following the link! https://lnkd.in/eD6nBgpB #Omega3 #Veramaris #Aquaculture #O3DModel

We took the opportunity to present to Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen during his visit to Evonik last week and showcase the groundbreaking work of Veramaris in providing a sustainable Omega-3 solution for aquaculture and beyond. 🐟 Our Strategy Director, Marion Hax, set out how Veramaris’s high-purity natural marine algal oil promotes the sector’s sustainable growth while reducing the marine footprint of farmed seafood – and the strategic importance of Nebraska to our mission. 🌽Nebraska is known for its agricultural technology and innovation and home to our state-of-the-art production facility in Blair. Locally sourced Nebraska corn sugar is a critical raw ingredient in the fermentation process to make our EPA- and DHA-rich oil, which supports better fish performance, less waste, and higher quality seafood. We’re thankful for this successful collaboration and look forward to it continuing into the future. 🤝 #Omega3 #Nebraska #AlgalOil #SustainableSeafood
