When a colleague posts a message like this, you know that we have achieved something extraordinary. Five platforms removed entirely and safely in one campaign and during one year, that is worth a mention. A special thank you to everyone involved and well done: Swift Drilling B.V., Scaldis SMC, GARDEC, Bluestream, DECO Subsea services, Dutch Offshore, NDO-Nederland, FAIRPLAY TOWAGE Group, Fugro, Van de Panne Scaffolding and of course our own team at Wintershall Noordzee B.V..
I thought this was worth posting. This 2024 season, together with Scaldis Salvage & Marine Contractors, we have removed 5 platforms from the Southern North Sea. This is a record for Wintershall Noordzee. The campaign started in May and successfully ended this week. We have applied/used all possible options with both Scaldis assets (Gulliver & Rambiz). Offshore lifts, placing modules on seagoing barges, transport in the hook (using single/double crane boom), onshore lifts, directly from the barge to the quay or directly on the quay. The prep scopes were sublimely executed by their subcontractors (Gardec, Bluestream, Deco subsea services, Van de Panne scaffolding, Dutch Offshore, NDO-Nederland, Fairplay Towage Group and Fugro). This would not have been possible without the good preparations of the Scaldis project teams, both on and offshore. We were also able to carry out this work efficiently and safely, partly thanks to our Marine Warranty office and their surveyors from Global Maritime. As Wintershall we are very pleased with this achievement and our project team really enjoyed the cooperation. Now we wish our disposal yards (HSD & SAGRO) success in dismantling our installations.
