"𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶 𝗯𝗮̊𝗻𝗻!" A Norwegian phrase that inspires resilience and teamwork ⛷️ In the 1928 Olympics, Ole Reistad rallied his team with these words before a critical descent, a call to regroup, recalibrate, and to chase victory. Against the odds, they did just that, catching up to competitors and winning the race. 👞 As we step into 2025, this mindset feels especially relevant for Norway’s energy and innovation sectors. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀. 🔋 The energy transformation has slowed, economic policies have sparked international concern, and promising ventures like Freyr and Morrow face significant obstacles. 🇨🇳 Meanwhile, global players, like China are racing ahead, achieving renewable energy milestones that far outpace Norway’s ambitions. 📕 Yet, there are lessons to be learned. Singapore, a nation of similar size and challenges as Norway demonstrates how a forward-leaning approach to innovation, talent, and collaboration can transform a country into a global leader. At the British-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce , we see 2025 as a year of opportunity. Guided here by the insight of BNCC board director Preben Strøm, CEO & Deputy CEO, Energy Valley & Secretary general World Energy Council. • Building stronger connections between industry and policymakers to align on shared goals. • Advocating for innovation policies that position Norwegian businesses for global success. • Drawing on international examples to inspire fresh ideas and bold action. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱? As Reistad’s team showed in 1928, success demands unity, determination, and a shared vision. 🎉 In 2025, let’s come together, industries, policymakers, and innovators alike, to seize the opportunities ahead and ensure Norway remains a beacon of progress and possibility. 🔗 to the article written by Preben Strøm https://lnkd.in/disDHPrB #britishnorwegianchamberofcommerce #energyvalley #challenges #innovation #2025

𝟳𝟲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗼, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗲. 🌎 🕊️ A promise to uphold dignity, equality, and freedom for every person on this planet. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 promises require action and the question is: Are we doing enough? 👫 This year’s Human Rights Day theme ⤵️ "𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘙𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴. 𝘖𝘶𝘳 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦. 𝘙𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘕𝘰𝘸." is a reminder that we don’t have time to wait. At the British-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce, we’ve seen how prioritizing human rights creates ripples that benefit everyone: 🌍 Sustainable solutions that protect people and the planet. 🤝 Inclusion that fuels stronger, more innovative businesses. 💡 Communities that thrive when every voice is heard. 🌱 Progress isn’t automatic though. It’s shaped by choices in boardrooms, classrooms, and around dinner tables. It’s shaped by YOU. So here’s the challenge for you today⤵️ 👉 How will YOU stand for human rights? 💚 Is it by creating more inclusive hiring practices? 💚 By supporting organizations driving equity? 💚 Or simply by using your platform to amplify the message? As Volker Türk, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, puts it ⤵️ "𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦, 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴; 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦." 🌟 Human rights aren’t just ideals; they’re the foundation of real change that shapes lives every single day. #HumanRightsDay #OurRightsOurFuture #BNCC #EqualityForAll #SustainabilityMatters

🎄✨ 𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗴𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻? It's a glowing symbol of the enduring friendship between Norway and the UK, a tradition that the British-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce proudly celebrates every year! 🇳🇴🤝🇬🇧 🌟 Yesterday, the festivities officially began as the magnificent tree was lit in Trafalgar Square! The evening included the Choir of St Martin-in-the-Fields singing well-loved Christmas carols, beautifully led by the Regent Hall Band of the Salvation Army. A heartwarming highlight was a poem dedicated to the Tree, written and read by children who live in Westminster, making the event even more magical. 🌱 This year, sustainability took center stage. The carbon footprint of the tree gift is approximately 1,256 kg CO₂, equivalent to just under the average annual mileage of a passenger car. 🌱 In a positive step forward, the tree was transported from Oslo to Brevik using an electric truck – a new initiative to help reduce the carbon footprint and make this tradition more sustainable. 🎄 The tree’s journey continued with great care: it traveled 180 km to Brevik on a specially designed cradle before being shipped by sea to Immingham in England, a 39-hour voyage. Measures like shorter transport times, horizontal storage, and storage below deck ensured minimal damage. 🎄 Once in Trafalgar Square, a specialist rigging team erected the tree using a hydraulic crane. 🎄 Adorned in true Norwegian style, the tree features vertical strings of energy-efficient lights. 👉 The BNCC celebrates traditions like these, fostering connections and supporting sustainable practices between Norway and the UK.
