Watch CPO Philipp Staggat go through how Capsol’s carbon capture technologies CapsolEoP® (end-of-pipe) and CapsolGT® for gas turbines have distinct technical advantages can turn CCS projects profitable: Cement: CapsolEoP® can operate with up to 50% lower energy use than traditional post-combustion technologies such as amines. This, together with reduced complexity, has the potential of reducing levelized capture costs by 20-60% Energy-from-waste: Due to the technology’s inherent heat recovery and generation, heat can be sent into the district heating network providing plant owners with an additional revenue stream. For one specific project in Europe the revenue potential is EUR 10 million per year Power plants: CapsolGT® can deliver reliable low-carbon electricity generation from natural gas with a USD 50 margin, while recent deals in the US shows that buyers are willing to pay USD 115 per MWh The presentation can be found here 👉 https://lnkd.in/d6Eucmyt #CarbonCaptureCement #CarbonCaptureEnergyFromWaste #CarbonCaptureGasTurbines #CapsolTechnologies #EnergyTransition

🎤 Last week our CTO, Cato Christiansen participated in a panel discussion arranged by Polyteknisk Forening. The conversation focused on the impact of Norway's investment in the Longship project and how it became a catalyst for other countries, providing valuable lessons on how to effectively implement CCS initiatives and also understanding what is involved in executing large-scale carbon capture projects. While uncertainties remain about CCS’s role in reducing Norwegian emissions, we are optimistic. The insights emphasized the need for innovation and collaboration to achieve sustainability goals. 🌱 Thank you to co-panelists Kristian Kjæstad from Carbon Circle AS and Mike Carpenter from Inherit for a great talk. And to Polyteknisk Forening for organizing this great discussion. 📷 : Polyteknisk Forening #CCS #EnergyTransition #Longship #PolytekniskForening #CapsolTechnologies

💪 At today’s last panel experts will address the fierce #competition that will take place for Biogenic #CO2. As Europe progresses on its path to #netzero, it will reduce its reliance on #fossilcarbon, but the demand for biogenic #carbon will increase. ❓ What would be then the optimal way of handling #biogenicCO2? ❓ Permanent #storage for offsetting unavoidable and historic #emissions or #utilization for covering demand of hard-to-abate sectors? All these questions are getting answers at #EBF2024

Three reasons why Stockholm Exergi selected Capsol’s carbon capture technology to remove 800,000 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere every year using bio-CCS: 🇸🇪 Environmentally friendly and mature technology based on a safe solvent. 🇸🇪 Well fitted to the construction area. 🇸🇪 Thermo-dynamic design and integration to avoid energy loss. The excess heat from the carbon capture process can be taken directly into Stockholm Exergi’s 3,000-kilometre-long district heating network to heat facilities across the city. 🎥: Beccs Stockholm #HPCTechnology #BECCS #StocholmExergi #CarbonCapture #NetZero #CapsolTechnologies
“There is no one best technology, it's all about context.” That's Erik Dahlén's mantra when discussing technology choices for carbon capture. Erik works in research and development at Stockholm Exergi and evaluated several types of CCS technologies before the construction of our research facility in 2019. After thorough analysis, HPC (Hot Potassium Carbonate) was chosen as the most suitable approach for Stockholm Exergi's needs. Here, Erik explains the reasoning behind this decision and how carbon capture using HPC works.
