Alaska Airlines has brought back an opportunity for guests to embrace a mileage-earning alternative to end-of-year mileage runs without flying. From now through 12/31, #MileagePlan members can make voluntary contributions towards #SAF to help support the use of lower-carbon fuels while reaching their year-end status goals.

Towards the end of 2023, Alaska Airlines took steps to integrate sustainability into the guest experience through its #MileagePlan by rewarding guests with elite-qualifying miles for supporting sustainable aviation fuel (#SAF)—giving them a boost towards their 2024 #elitestatus. Member spend contributed towards more than 500,000 gallons of SAF, with nearly 9% of guests maxing out their per-order contributions, showcasing the incredible impact guests can have when sustainability is incorporated as a central component of a loyalty program—and leveraging CHOOOSE to make it happen. Alaska Airlines is partnering with CHOOOSE to provide guests with a new way to support sustainable aviation fuel (#SAF) during the booking process. Guests can now better understand the estimated #carbonemissions associated with their flights and voluntarily make a contribution towards SAF, based on the environmental impact of their travel, while earning elite-qualifying miles (EQMs) for a sustainability-linked way to accelerate the path to elite status.
