Unlock the full potential of your ICD completions with data-driven optimization. Traditional ICD designs use uniform nozzle sizes and placements, but is this the optimal design for each well? Per customer request, we have added an automated approach, allowing you to automatically balance inflow, restrict high-permeability zones, and prevent early water and gas breakthrough. This method maximizes oil recovery and improves well efficiency. Reach out if you would like to see how Insight can improve your inflow control work process.

  • Using Insight alone or with reservoir simulators enables you to evaluate and quantify accelerated and increased oil production, as well as reduced water production, when utilizing inflow control technology. Watch our video to see how Insight’s physics can capture the effect of cascading valve interactions within a zone. This is crucial as it reveals realistic production behavior of the zone. Contact us and let us demonstrate how Insight can enhance your inflow control selection and well design process. Advanced/autonomous inflow control technologies are provided by the following companies: Halliburton - Equiflow InflowControl - AICV SLB - AICD TAQA (Industrialization & Energy Services Company) - FloSure Welltec - DAR (alphabetical order)

Leveraging advanced inflow control technology Efficient design and application of autonomous inflow control technology for oil extraction hinges on effectively differentiating and controlling fluid phases based on viscosity and density. Advanced inflow control technologies such as the RCP type AICD, AICV and D-AICD play an increasingly critical role in optimizing well performance. AICD (RCP type Autonomous Inflow Control Device): AICDs adapt mainly to viscosity differences between oil and water or gas. In cases with high viscosity oil, the AICDs can be used to hold back water. In light oil systems, these valves can be used to suppress gas production. A-ICV (Autonomous Inflow Control Valve): AICVs adapt to both viscosity and density differences. In cases where oil and water have similar viscosities, they differentiate the phases based on density, reducing water production. The AICVs are generally efficient in suppressing gas production. D-AICD & DAR (Density based Autonomous Inflow Control Device): D-AICDs focus on density differences, dynamically adjusting flow paths using real-time density measurements. This ensures effective separation and control of water and gas. These companies are suppliers of the above mentioned technologies: Halliburton InflowControl TAQA Well Completions Welltec   By selecting the right technology based on well specific fluid properties, operators can enhance performance and achieve more sustainable production. Flowpro Insight is the industry’s most advanced tool to select and optimize inflow control technology. Principal Advisor, PhD - SPE Distinguished Lecturer 2024-2025

On the way home after a fantastic week at Adipec and Abu Dhabi. A lot to learn on the SPE technical conference and the gigantic energy exhibition. Our joint SPE paper from InflowControl, Flowpro Dynamics and Aker BP ASA is now available at OnePetro with all the details. The paper publish new independent test data of an revised AICV and explains further a new and improved modelling workflow. Both is key to make better and more environment-friendly wells. New modelling workflow for long horizontal wells Kåre Langaas and external co-authors presented a poster at the SLB forum 2024 last week, showcasing our new modelling workflow for long horizontal wells with inflow control technology. The case study compares both standard ICD and a new AICV, based on Aker BP-funded hardware testing in Porsgrunn. This new modelling workflow is essential for evaluating new infill wells, like the ones we drill on Yggdrasil. It is crucial for understanding value and risks, while helping us create better, more sustainable wells by reducing water production. This is a significant step towards more efficient and responsible operations at Aker BP. The full paper will be published in November🌟   #Innovation #Sustainability #Yggdrasil #AkerBP #digitalinaction #rebelsinaction
