What do you do when you see two young men sleeping in a car outside your office? 🤨 Dag Arne Nilsen, general manager at HG-company Murmester Dag Arne Nilsen AS, knocked on the window and invited them in 🙌   What started as a simple summer job has since turned into something much bigger for one of the two men: Mindaugas from Lithuania ✨   🗨️ “We believe in people, and we've seen how much trust and support matters. Offering Mindaugas a job has been one of the best decisions I've made. “I came to Norway as a Kurdish refugee, and I'm so grateful for the opportunities I've had.” ❤️   These words come from Servet (to the left of the picture) – a painter at Risanger & Sønn in Haugesund, Norway.   Starting with no painting experience, Servet joined the company through a Refugee Service program in 2019 and earned a permanent position by 2021.   His journey reflects Risanger & Sønn’s approach: by hiring individuals with a strong work ethic and a desire to grow, they’ve built a committed, skilled workforce.   “We collaborate with the municipality's refugee service and bring in apprentices each year. 7,000 square meters of terrazzo floors and stairs – with almost no waste! ♻️👏   That's what our local company Malco is contributing to Construction City – one of Norway's most ambitious sustainability projects 🏗️   Thanks to a strong collaboration with developer OBOS and main contractors AF Gruppen and Betonmast, Malco has thought creatively and developed a solution that recycles 10,000 kilos of grinding dust instead of sending it to waste! 🗨️ “We have found a unique way to reduce waste without compromising on quality, aesthetics or durability. A great collaboration is underway in Germany with our local craft companies, Ritter und Frank Oberflächen GmbH & Co. KG and Baur GmbH! 💪   🏡 Led by Martin Frank and Joachim Baur, their teams are renovating a country house in the Swabian Alb, showcasing exceptional teamwork and expertise. The project includes:   🎶 Installing acoustic ceilings 🎨 Applying Italian lime plaster on wall surfaces 🪵 Creating wood paneling and furniture fronts with liquid metal 🖌️Managing all painting and plastering tasks   This project truly highlights the strength of our group in Germany: ✔️ effective collaboration, ✔️ knowledge sharing, and ✔️ the ability to tackle large, time-sensitive projects.   We are proud craftspeople leading the way!
