Norway’s largest wastewater treatment plant operator, Veas , has announced it will install a carbon capture project at its treatment plant in Oslo. The project is a collaboration with the publicly-owned #utility and its commercial subsidiary Hoop CO2, as well as carbon management company Inherit. The project is touted as the first in the #WaterIndustry to both capture carbon using this method, and then realise the value chain of selling carbon credits. I’ll be joining a panel on high integrity carbon credits with Pascal Siegwart at TotalEnergies and Alicia Robbins at Weyerhaeuser. The Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) has developed global standards for high-quality carbon credits. The goal is to ensure transparency, real emissions reductions/removals, permanence, and alignment with sustainable development goals, and at Inherit we're meeting these requirements. Great to be at Polyteknisk Forening last night 😍 Our co-CEO Mike Carpenter shared a panel with  Cato Christiansen from Capsol Technologies ASA and Kristian Kjæstad from Carbon Circle AS. The topic was the Norwegian government’s investments in the Longship project — a full-scale CO₂ carbon capture, transport, and storage initiative — and whether it is delivering the expected returns. Mike's key takeaway was that the investments are indeed starting to pay off, enabling both emissions reduction and CO₂ removal, while benefiting both new companies like Inherit alongside established industry players Thank you for an insightful conversation! 💚
