Double Jotun victory🎉 Check out the happy Jotun faces at the Orkla Awards 2024 in Norway earlier this week. At the annual event held by our part owner Orkla, we received two prizes. 🏆 Orkla Grand Prize 2024 🏆 ESG & Sustainability Prize For the Grand Prize, the jury highlighted elements such as outstanding business growth, record sales & earnings, and innovative solutions. Our Clean shipping commitment won the ESG & Sustainability Price – because of its potential to drive long-term sustainable growth. Naturally, the Jotun delegation was delighted to secure the wins – and grateful for being selected among Orkla’s portfolio companies.

Strong volume growth and good cost control gave new all-time high sales and earnings in our first tertiary of 2024. Jotun Group’s total sales increased to NOK 10 897 million in the four-month period, whereas earnings ended at NOK 2 390 million. However, in our press release published today, President and CEO Morten Fon reminds us there may be darker clouds ahead: “This was yet another very good tertiary for Jotun, but there are significant challenges around us”. The Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul has experienced extreme rainfall. Huge areas are flooded and almost 2 million people are affected. More than 140 people are reported missing and around 70.000 are living in shelters. In Jotun, we contribute financially in emergency situations in countries where we are located. We have operations in Brazil and have decided to donate NOK 1 million to Red Cross/IFRC and their aid in the area.
