Om oss
Maritime intelligence at your fingertips Every second we collect raw AIS data for the global merchant fleet from more than 700 AIS satellites, terrestrial senders, and dynamic AIS sources. We combine these AIS data sources with technical descriptions of the ships, information about ports, and marine data acquired from public sources and partners. Each day we collect marine weather data, sea ice data, piracy news and tides from satellites, and we map the vessels' activities in the ports where the merchant vessels trade. We spend time and knowledge in data wrangling, cleaning, and unifying and processing messy and complex data sets so you should get the most out of the data. Together with the sea route calculator where you can route from any vessels's AIS position to any port, the AIS data platform is the backbone of our smart maritime software products. We offer two products: ShipIntel by Maritime Optima ShipIntel is an innovative software that maximize the value of your knowledge and private data by combining them with AIS maritime data, cutting-edge machine learning algorithms, and generative AI technology. With ShipIntel, you gain valuable insights and make informed decisions that can drive your business forward. ShipAtlas by Maritime Optima For everyone interested in vessel data, tracking and trades, port activities, congestions, sea routes, marine weather, ice conditions, piracy, zones and maps.

This year we threw a Christmas Gift Drive at the office to support families and individuals in our community who could use a little extra magic this Christmas, by delivering gifts to Fattighuset 🎁 Fattighuset is a voluntary organization in Oslo that offers a lifeline through food, clothing, and support to the city's less fortunate. A big thanks to all our colleagues who participated in spreading Christmas joy! In keeping with tradition, this years Christmas gift in Maritime Optima will be a donation to a charity chosen by our employees. In the spirit of the season, consider donating to a charity of your choice and make someone’s holiday a little brighter ✨ We wish all a very merry Christmas 💙

On Thursday, we celebrated our annual Christmas Party at Thorleif Thorleifsson’s Travellers Club, a place where adventurers gather to share their experiences. Thorleif, our Chairman of the Board, drew a fascinating parallel between being a tech entrepreneur and embarking on an expedition. I can see the similarities: You need a great team. 💪 Resources are always limited, so you must make the most of what you have. Passion and focus on the goal/purpose are essential, even in stormy waters. Never giving up is crucial. Maritime Optima has navigated through some turbulent times since we started our voyage. However, thanks to our dedicated team, patient investors, solid partners, and customers who embrace ShipIntel by Maritime Optima, we are heading into 2025 with a solid AI ready backend and scalable product that is growing rapidly. This success is driven by our happy customers and the outstanding team. So thank you all for being a part of Maritime Optima's voyage so far, and now we are heading for an exciting 2025 together because YNWA onboard Maritime Optima. 🙌 In it to win it together 🙌

Last week, we spent time in Athens to get to know Christina better, conduct training, and meet with customers. Greece and Cypros have become the worlds most important shipping hubs, and we are looking forward building a strong local greek presence. Christina Madamadiotou is our new Sales and Customer Success Manager in Greece. It was wonderful to spend time with such a positive, dedicated, and hardworking colleague. Christina is full of energy, a quick learner, has a relevant network and has already become a great fan of ShipIntel. With more talented people, we can reach out to more customers and do more, and I am so very proud to have her onboard.

We were thrilled to attend the Singapore Norway Innovation Conference (SNIC) 2024 hosted by the Norwegian Business Association Singapore (NBAS)! This year’s theme, "Smarter Ships, Smarter Ports, Smarter Energy," resonates strongly with our mission to drive digital transformation in the maritime industry. The event offered insightful discussions on technology and sustainability and brought together leading minds in maritime innovation. It was a fantastic way to kick off our presence in Singapore as we expand our reach in Asia. Events like SNIC are invaluable in helping us connect, collaborate, and bring advanced digital solutions to stakeholders across the shipping ecosystem. Thank you to NBAS and all the participants for a fantastic event! We’re excited to continue advancing smarter solutions for a sustainable maritime future. 🌊 #MaritimeOptima #SNIC2024 #SmartShipping #MaritimeInnovation #SustainableShipping #DigitalTransformation

Yesterday, our team took some time to see our product just like our customers do 👀 It's easy to get stuck on the tiny details or focus too much on one single part when building a software, but this workshop allowed us to take a step back and look at the big picture—how everything connects and works together. Going through the product from a customer’s view and seeing what we've built together and with our customers made us proud... and may have made us spot some workflows we'd like to make even smoother.
