🎉 We're thrilled to be a part of the FME MarTrans – Maritime Energy Transition – project that kicked off this week! 🚀 This project’s main objective is to accelerate the maritime energy transition and reduce emissions from ships through R&D for innovation and value creation within the Norwegian maritime and energy industries. The maritime supply industry is one of Norway’s largest export industries with 90,000 jobs across the country and an annual value creation of over NOK 150 billion. In order to maintain and strengthen competitiveness, the Norwegian industry is dependent on being at the forefront of technology development and innovation, especially related to green solutions. Cooperation across the maritime value chain is a Norwegian tradition and recipe for success. In FME MarTrans, shipping companies, shipbuilders, technology suppliers, ports, energy companies, insurance and classification societies meet with universities and research institutes to find solutions to the most demanding challenges within the maritime industry. Bjørn Åge Hjøllo and Jannikke Berger represented NAVTOR at the kick off. 🟢🚢 “The greenest energy is the energy not used!” Bjørn Åge provided a presentation on how NAVTOR can help with route optimalisation. Learn more about the project on https://martrans.no/ A special thanks to The Research Council of Norway for the funding and SINTEF for organising the kick off! 🌊⚓️ #ProjectKickoff #MaritimeInnovation #Logistics #Technology Photo credit (group photo): Henriette Louise Krogness

🚢🌱The GASS project and #DYNAPORT are both important for a more sustainable maritime shipping industry. This video explains how important it is to work together towards Just-in-Time Arrivals. 🛳️ Green AI for Sustainable Shipping >> The GASS Project #Innovation #Collaboration #Sustainability
🚢 Next week, we will attend the Waterborne Days in Brussels. An excellent opportunity to learn more about our project! 🌊 In particular, how DYNAPORT’s innovative solutions will enable Just-In-Time arrivals and port call optimisation. Together with the MISSION Project, we are combating the energy and resource-exhaustive "Hurry-up-and-Wait" regime in favour of real-time coordination between ships and ports. Don't miss the chance to see how the two sister projects align efforts to make maritime transport more efficient, safe, and sustainable! 🌱 🗓️ 5 February ⏰ 10:00 - 11:00 📍 Hotel Sofitel Brussels Europe, Simone Veil Room 👉 More information about Waterborne Days here: https://lnkd.in/g3-nKDnm 🎬 Watch the video below for a brief overview of how DYNAPORT will develop and demonstrate optimisation and coordination solutions for ports and ships to support voyage and port call optimisation. NAVTOR la ut dette på nytt
I’m delighted to share that I’ll be attending the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) Netherlands Talk on 29th January 2025 in Rotterdam. The event will focus on digitisation in shipping and its connection to emission regulations, including the timely and impactful FuelEU Maritime Regulation. These discussions are critical as the maritime industry accelerates its transformation toward sustainability and operational efficiency. I highly recommend checking out an insightful article on how Closelink, one of the speakers, has integrated NAVTOR operational ROB data to drive cost savings through strategic order planning. It’s a fascinating example of how digitisation and collaboration can deliver tangible value. https://lnkd.in/d52Vn4nz Looking forward to engaging discussions and connecting with industry peers at Hotel New York in Rotterdam! #Shipping #NAVTOR #Digitalisation #ICS #FuelEU #Sustainability #Closelink

Last week, NAVTOR's CEO Tor Andreas Svanes and Frode Klepsvik, MD NAVTOR Singapore, paid visit to the Secretariat of the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) in Monaco. Having been deeply involved in uptake of ECDIS over decades, both were wholeheartedly welcomed by Mathias Jonas, Secretary-General of the IHO and John Nyberg, Director who oversees IHO’s Technical Programme. The leaders of NAVTOR and IHO shared insights on their respective role in the evolving e-Navigation landscape and discussed data standardization and production aspects meeting IHO’s new S-100 standard framework. 💡 The discussions were highly productive, with concrete ideas to continue the good collaboration with the IHO and its members working toward implementing and optimizing the distribution of S-100 data. Exciting times ahead as we shape the next chapter in smart shipping! #maritimetechnology #shipping #IHO
