We are excited to mark the official launch of the DesaLIFE project, a pioneering initiative to produce fresh water using wave energy to the municipalities of the northern coast of Gran Canaria. 🌊 DesaLIFE aims to demonstrate the feasibility and sustainability of wave-powered desalination. The European project, co-funded by the European Commission, will see the deployment of innovative technology to desalinate seawater using only wave energy, eliminating the need for grid electricity, and reducing the project's carbon footprint. It was a day full of innovative thinking and thought provoking discussion. Thank you to our brilliant partners for your support and commitment. Last week, we attended the 14th edition of Canagua and Energy in Gran Canaria. The Canary Islands are in the forefront of innovative approaches in desalination. Our co-founder and COO Sebastián Feimblatt participated in the round table "Water and energy nexus. Water as an energy resource". Sebastian leads our operations in the Canary Islands, as CEO for our Spanish subsidiary Ocean Oasis Canarias. The key topic of the conference has been sustainable and energy efficient desalination with the use of renewable energy. Our recently announced DesaLIFE project, funded by CINEA - European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency, will showcase our technology for off-grid, sustainable desalination in the north of Gran Canaria. The Canary Islands provides the perfect setting for our project, with the strong competence and experience in desalination from companies, utilities, research centers and the institutions in the Canaries. Thank you to our fellow panelists for a great conversation!
