Kicking things off, our Founder & Chair, Chelsea Ranger, set the tone for an impactful evening. 🌟 We were privileged to hear from inspiring speakers like Solveig Østby Vitanza (Labour Party), renowned equality researcher Mari Teigen (CORE), and Kari Holm Hejna (First House). Menon Economics, represented by Kari Rolfsjord and Erland Skogli, shared fresh data on the gender gap in Norway’s life sciences, highlighting that while progress is happening, it's far too slow. Chelsea captivated the audience with a personal story of her upbringing around the oil industry, asking the room whether they were picturing men or women. The twist? The central figure was her mother, a leader in a male-dominated field. This powerful moment illustrated just how deeply unconscious bias runs. 🎤 💡 The evening’s panel, led by Board Member Ole J. Dahlberg, discussed the importance of role models, allyship, and how gender differences can be strengths. Sarsia porteføljeselskap Pluvia Biotech er ett skritt nærmere i utviklingen av en medisin mot Føllings sykdom. Dette er en sjelden sykdom som gjør at barn får hjerneskade av å spise proteiner. Lykkes man med dette vil det endre livet til det bedre for mange barn og voksne i hele verden. Teknologien er utviklet under ledelse av Professor ved University of Bergen Aurora Martinez. Just back from two inspiring—and very maritime ⚓—days in Hamburg. Tuesday kicked off at the port (where else?) with the Maritime Tech Demo Day, featuring 12 maritime startups, interesting panels and engaging conversations. Thanks to HHLA Next, Signal, TMV , Motion Ventures and the rest of the partners for organizing such a fantastic event. Wednesday was all about SMM Hamburg one of the world’s largest maritime fairs—with 80 000 visitors and 2,000 exhibitors from all over the world. Among them Sarsia investee Cetasol - Maritime Sustainability exhibiting in the AI Centre. 👾 No maritime-themed visit to Hamburg is complete without a boat trip around the port to see the enormous container vessels— including a behemoth with a capacity of almost 24,000 containers (TEU). 🐋 Watching them load is fascinating and a testament to human ingenuity, but at the same time, it's a reminder of the industry's size and complexity, and the effort needed to accelerate the transition. 🐌🌱 Continued innovation is of course key, and it is especially inspiring to have meet many promising maritime and logistics startup, many of them AI powered 🚀, chipping away at the enormous task 🐳 And among them our investees Keelspot and Cetasol - Maritime Sustainability ☀️
