We are thrilled to announce that we have been shortlisted for the IMCA Awards 2024, in the category of Greenhouse Gas Project of the Year! The project we are nominated for is Solstad Green Operations®, an initiative established in 2010 to enhance energy efficiency across our fleet by focusing on daily operational measures. Since then, we have saved over one million tonnes of CO2, and the average fuel consumption and emissions per vessel have been reduced by more than 20%. The winners of the IMCA Awards will be announced next week – thank you for the nomination, IMCA!

Meet Nora Julie Lønning (24)! She is usually the 3rd Officer on Normand Jarstein but is currently substituting as HSEQ coordinator at the Skudeneshavn office. She holds a bachelor's degree in nautical science from the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and started as a cadet at Solstad in 2022. In 2023, she was promoted to 3rd Officer on Normand Jarstein, working a four-week rotation in the North Sea. "I really enjoy my job! It's a great vessel with nice people and including environment. It feels like a small community that's exciting to be a part of", says Nora. Until January 2025, she is substituting as a HSEQ coordinator, responsible for following up on several vessels, creating reports, and ensuring safety is in place. "It's very nice to try new things. I think it provides a broad and useful understanding to have worked both at sea and on land". "What would you say to others considering a maritime career?" "I absolutely recommend trying it! You must be able to handle being away from home, but you get to experience a lot of exciting and varied things. Additionally, the rotation life is very nice; when you're at work, you're at work – but when you're home, you're home, and you can completely relax".
