We're thrilled to announce the successful completion of the Women's Leadership Fellowship (WLF) 2024. On October 18th, we celebrated the achievements of our remarkable cohort of fellows. Through eight months of intensive learning and growth, our fellows have deepened their understanding of gender, sexuality, leadership, and rights. This year's theme, 'Understanding Care Work and Beyond,' emphasized the critical role of unpaid care work. We're proud of our fellows' dedication to creating a more equitable future. They are now equipped with the knowledge, skills, and networks to advocate for social change and lead with authenticity. A Retreat of Reflection and Renewal! The Ujyalo Foundation team recently escaped the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu for a strategic retreat at Dhulikhel. Over two days, October 5th and 6th, the team along with the Board of Directors (BoD) gathered to discuss organization's strategic goals and chart a course for the Fiscal year 2024/25. From board presentations to team discussions, the retreat was a hive of activity. The team explored everything from administrative policies to innovative strategies, all with the aim of aligning the organization's efforts. On October 2, 2024, our Women's Leadership Fellowship (WLF) 2024 fellows submitted a Charter of Demand to the ILO Country Office in Nepal. The charter, informed by this year’s WLF theme of 'Understanding Care Work and Beyond,' urged the ILO to prioritize policies and programs addressing gender inequality, care work, and women's empowerment. The fellows emphasized the need for comprehensive data collection, capacity-building, and financial support to ensure a more equitable and just society for women in Nepal.
