Digital health devices like smartwatches and sleep sensors are becoming more and more commonplace, but have you ever seen a gastric sensor? I tested Alimetry's device that aims to revolutionize the diagnosis of gastric dysfunctions. By capturing the electrical signals of the stomach, the device offers a more precise and objective approach to understanding gastrointestinal issues. It’s quite relatively user-friendly, with an app guiding users through the setup process, but the 4.5-hour test duration and the need for precise positioning may pose challenges for some patients. By incorporating a wellbeing assessment into the Gastric Alimetry Test, it allows clinicians to gain a more comprehensive understanding of their patient's condition.
